Snapshot of your day.

This position will manage a local workforce, consisting of a team of Package Engineers and Designers that implement Customer Projects in Industrial and Decarbonization Applications, mainly for Integrally Geared compression units in highly variable configurations for the global compression market. The team works in close collaboration with other locations of the Compression business of Siemens Energy, globally and locally.

It includes the responsibility for the development of the detailed mechanical design of rotating equipment packages, taking inputs from core machinery, mechanical rotating equipment, and systems design, considering the incorporation of Siemens Energy design standards and project-specific specifications to ensure the design meets the requirements of the project, the installation location, and Siemens Energy

How You’ll Make an Impact.

Leads all aspects of compliance with Siemens Energy design standards and guidelines, customer specifications, and applicable statutory requirements for the installation location. This highly visible position will set and implement new job standards, set targets and monitor engineering productivity on customer projects. Define IT Tools requirements, motivate the workforce, implement corrective and preventative actions from lessons learned. Contribute to material cost productivity initiatives for package design and related scope for the relevant product lines and factories. Supports Know-How transfer and load sharing across other locations of compression. Responsible for Package Engineering and Detailed Design of turbo compressor packages (Package Integration & Layout) ensuring compliance to customer contract and requirements, international and internal standards. Work and coordinate Compressor Package Engineering across multiple engineering platforms and locations and deliver requested project documentation. Ensure proper quality of project documentation and adherence to time schedules and Engineering hour budgets. Plan, budget and assign department resources according to Compressor Package Management priorities. Definition or support and independent implementation of improvement measures to increase engineering quality and effectiveness or hardware cost savings. Empower, assess competencies and talents, train, and progress the careers of our Compressor Package Engineers and Designers.

What you Bring

Bachelors or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 8+ years of experience in Rotating Equipment for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and other Process Industry applications, achieved through working on Industrial Applications Products in Turbo Compressor Package Engineering. Experience in the area of Integrally Geared compressors and/or packages is a preference. 3+ years of team management experience, either by managing a direct-reporting functional department, or leading larger project-based engineering teams Peer-recognized for solving complex problems, developing new and improving business processes, demonstrating high professional judgement in ambiguous circumstances, and coordinating technical deliverables from across a global-matrixed organization. Outstanding knowledge of mechanical design, plant and piping design. Knowledge of ASME, API and relevant internal and international standards. Knowledge of 3D CAD with Siemens - NX (Modeling, Drafting, Mechanical Routing) and Teamcenter (Globus) Good analytical and Communication skills. Mobility to occasionally travel to different sites of the Compression business, inside and outside of India
