Director, Finance Shared Services

A little bit about the role:
ORBCOMM is a leading global provider of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication solutions that remotely track, monitor and control fixed and mobile assets. We are looking for a Director of Finance Shared Services to guide all financial activities within our shared services department and work with the functional leaders in the United States to ensure on-time and high-quality deliverables of the Shared Services team. Further, the Director of Shared Services is a key member of the local management team and develops best-in-class onboarding and work transition processes for finance and other back-office functions. This individual will be in Hyderabad.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and support to our finance team, fostering an environment where they can excel.Oversee day-to-day financial operations such as billing, collections and accounts payable.Work in close collaboration and within the guidance of the functional leaders in the United States to optimize our core finance processes.Develop an environment of continuous improvement and identify opportunities for process improvement, task automation, and procedural standardization within finance shared services to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.Address any escalated concerns from internal and external stakeholders promptly and efficiently.Cultivate strong relationships with other teams and external partners to ensure alignment between our financial objectives and overall business goals.Uphold a robust internal control environment, overseeing the preparation and review of reports for internal and external audits, resolving outstanding issues, and ensuring audit compliance.Collaborate closely with finance and other operational teams to identify impactful process enhancements, deliver value, optimize resource allocation, and mitigate risks effectively.Establish departmental objectives and regularly monitor key performance metrics, providing insightful analysis and reports to management.Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CA, CMA) preferred.Proven track record (7 years) of leadership experience in finance shared services or similar roles.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, drive change, and build high-performing teams.Proficiency in financial systems and technology, including ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills; familiarity with Indian GST and TDS regulations.Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Discover the Total Reward Package:
