A little bit about the role: ORBCOMM is a leading global provider of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication solutions that remotely track, monitor and control fixed and mobile assets. We are looking for a Director of Finance Shared Services to lead all financial activities within our shared services department and collaborate with functional leaders in the United States to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables from the Shared Services team. Additionally, the Director of Shared Services plays a crucial role in the local management team and designs top-notch onboarding and work transition procedures for finance and other back-office functions. This position will be based in Hyderabad.Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to our finance team, creating a conducive environment for their growth.
  • Supervise day-to-day financial operations like billing, collections, and accounts payable.
  • Collaborate closely and align with the guidance of functional leaders in the United States to optimize core finance processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancement, task automation, and procedural standardization within finance shared services to boost efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Address any escalated concerns from internal and external stakeholders promptly and effectively.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with other teams and external partners to ensure harmony between our financial goals and overall business objectives.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment, overseeing the preparation and review of reports for both internal and external audits, addressing outstanding issues, and ensuring audit compliance.
  • Work closely with finance and operational teams to pinpoint impactful process improvements, deliver value, optimize resource allocation, and effectively mitigate risks.
  • Establish departmental goals and regularly track key performance metrics, providing insightful analysis and reports to management.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (CA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience of 7 years in finance shared services or similar roles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, lead change, and build high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and technology, including ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills; familiarity with Indian GST and TDS regulations.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
