ITSM- ReleaseManager

ReleaseManagers are IT professionals who manage software/hardware releasesthrough managing, planning and scheduling delivery all through therelease lifecycle. This encompassesfacilitating the process required to move software or hardwarereleases into production while coordinating with different teams toensure a smooth delivery of the product with little disruption andfirst-time quality.

General duties:

·Focus onthe bigger picture and views software/hardware development andrelease processes in relation to the overall businessobjectives.

·Providethe services and tools needed to help product teams manage anddeploy software/hardware into production.

·Beresponsible for the implementing and managing the release processfrom beginning to end into the production environments.

·Scheduling,managing, and coordinating release across multiple applicationswithin various portfolios across different teams andprojects

·Ensuringall team members are adhering to best practices as well asenforcing policies and procedures of release management.

·Manageand mitigate risk and resolve issues regarding quality orschedule.

·Monitorthe release process and collect feedback from all involved teams aswell as customers for review and improvement.

SkillSets:

·Backgroundin Computer Science or a related field with advanced knowledge ofsoftware development lifecycle and project management.

·Possessionof interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skill &abilities to resolve cross-functional team issues.

·Must beable to work under pressure and short time lines whenneeded.

·Must beflexible in supporting releases on off hours andholidays.

·Must becertified or familiar with Agile methodologies, SAFe, DevSecOps,IT4IT and ITIL 4 frameworks with good working knowledge to apply torelease management.

·Must beadept at conflict resolution on a cross-functionalenvironment.

·Musthave strong project management skills and timemanagement.

·Must befamiliar with Release Management Best Practices.

·RiskManagement and mitigation skills

·Leadershipskills and the ability to work with little or nosupervision.

·Thoroughunderstanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deliverypipelines.

·Abilityto communicate effectively to Leadership and cross-functional teamsand programs.

·Familiaritywith Change Management practices and procedures.

·Workingknowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.

·Experiencewith Application Release tools

·Goodunderstanding of application, system architecture and operatingsystems.
