Manager, Product Software Engineering/Technical Manager

DXG Health Clinical Effectiveness (CE) Development organization is a fast-growing and innovation-driven healthcare information technology (HIT) provider working on the front lines of clinical care. The Editorial platform operates in the Azure/AWS Cloud and provides accurate, timely, and meaningful information to comprise our suite of products serving our HealthCare community.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Product Engineering and Technical Manager of Software Engineering will be critical in helping the organization reach Editorial Engineering development roadmap goals. This person will have excellent management, technical, and communication skills and can work closely with product management to define and deliver all aspects of our products. We seek a talented, high-energy Technical Manager with experience defining and building a highly scalable Editorial platform. This is a hands-on technical management role, and we will work closely with the director, agile coach, architects, and engineers to drive the development of our products.
Responsibilities:
Product Focused
Lead the technical effort to maintain, enhance, and extend the Editorial Platform.
Work with the product owner to understand, refine the understanding of, and size new product features, enhancements, and defects.
Participate in strategic and tactical planning exercises to ensure the efficient and timely execution of activities supporting the product roadmap.
Validate proposed solutions and seek feedback from stakeholders.
Create project estimates and schedules.
Lead the monitoring of development, testing, and production environments to ensure that the applications work as expected and identify improvement opportunities.
Identify opportunities to improve product functionality and user experience.
Team Leadership
Ensure the technical correctness, timeliness, and quality of application releases and other team deliverables.
Work with the Agile team’s scrum master in the various planning and status meetings to ensure the team members are fully utilized and working on the right tasks.
Use problem-solving and communication skills to identify and remove roadblocks that prevent the team from efficiently and correctly completing tasks.
Work with the product engineering and DevOps teams to document, apply, and evolve best practices for software development.
Perform quarterly and annual performance appraisals for direct reports.
Technical Leadership
Research and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies that may be adopted to improve our processes and systems.
Devise best practices, coding standards, and implementation patterns to develop secure, performant, reliable, and scalable applications efficiently.
Collaborate with directors, other managers, architects, security champions, and engineers to estimate, design, code, deploy, and support working software/technology components.
Lead cross-team troubleshooting problems that may arise from applications or integration of various components.
Work with Quality Assurance Team on issue reporting, resolution, and change control
Work with the DevOps team to ensure that applications can be built, tested, and deployed efficiently and automatically.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
3+ years of experience as a technical manager, managing, coaching, and leading senior-level and mid-level software engineers on multi-functional teams.
3+ years as a Tech lead. Hands-on development experience with.NET/C#/ Relational databases
2+ years of cloud experience delivering complex projects in Azure, AWS, and or Google Cloud Platform
Experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL, Storage, Web apps, Key Vault, pipeline, App insights, and Monitoring).
Knowledge of Front-end technologies is a plus.
Experience in Agile Software Development.
Knowledge of REST API/ Web API creation, consumption, and integration using Service Oriented Architecture.
Knowledge of Object-oriented programming and data structures
Industry experience in the healthcare sector is a plus.
Technology Certifications is a plus.
