Position Overview

The RGA Client Digital Solutions (CDS) team in Asia and is responsible for the sustainable growth of RGA’s reinsurance business together with our local business teams through Reinsurtech initiatives that differentiate us from our competitors.

The RGA CDS team is seeking an experienced Innovator, Business Developer, and Strategist in India to work closely with the RGA India Branch management to develop and implement the Reinsurtech Strategy for India that would support the core Reinsurance business growth in India. This is a highly influential position, impacting new business growth and, RGA’s brand in product development, innovation, risk management and underwriting excellence. The successful candidate will establish excellent relationships with insurance clients, distribution channels, Insurtech partners and RGA’s various experts to design, develop, implement, and operate innovative Reinsurtech solutions. The candidate will also spearhead the pre-sales process to clearly articulate the value proposition of the Reinsurtech solutions to clients and ensure the delivery of sustainable incremental business value thru new features and continuous improvements based on market intelligence, data, and client feedback.

Responsibilities

Own and oversee the development the Reinsurtech products (client facing digital solutions) in the L&H Underwriting, Claims and Distribution space. Work closely with the local office leadership and clients to identify differentiating business opportunities / solutions for client problems leveraging digital technologies. Network and build excellent working relationship with distribution channels, Insurtech & non-industry partners to explore innovative solutions for problems in the L&H insurance industry. Develop business cases, execution plans, go-to-market plans for the Reinsurtech products and oversee the product operations. Define high-level business objectives and ensure they are clearly understood by the digital product management and technology implementation teams. Manage the cross-functional delivery streams and oversee the build and implementation of Reinsurtech solutions. Manage risks, issues and dependencies and report to leadership and committees as appropriate and make recommendations to influence & drive decisions. Drive the pre-sales activities together with the local client-facing teams by clearly articulating the value proposition to the clients. Ensure the products are client-ready offering great user experience with sufficient access controls, operational continuity, and resilience. Own and drive the Product Innovation by collaboratively working with the Local/Regional/ Global teams and with external partners where applicable to develop new product features that bring incremental business value. Support the local leadership with the P&L of the Reinsurtech solutions and ensure there is a steady New Business growth enabled by Reinsurtech solutions.

Requirements

Required

Bachelor’s degree in a related field Skilled and confident in business development, especially working with C-Suite in India market Excellent networking skills and ability to identify business opportunities or solutions for market pain points in the L&H insurance industry, leveraging Reinsurtech solutions Ability to understand complex business problems, identify and interpret business needs and devise practical solutions 10+ years relevant work experience building new business models or management consulting related to business transformation Demonstrated facilitation and influencing skills to drive decision making among stakeholders with diverse perspectives and priorities Ability to manage and build strong relationships with global, regional and remote teams across multiple geographies and time zones  Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment, and to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends Strong network in local innovation/Insuretech ecosystems Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables Ability to handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously Possess an Enterprise mind-set and demonstrates qualities of being open, dependable and connected

Preferred

Experience working on information technology implementations and transformation projects and knowledge of agile implementations a definite plus Program management experience managing complex programs delivered by cross-functional teams Experience in the life and health (re)insurance industry in India or Southeast Asia Knowledge of the L&H Insurance value chain, specifically in the areas of distribution, underwriting & claims is a definite plus Native English speaker but fluency in Hindi or other Asian languages will provide a significant advantage
