Summary:Our client is an innovative B2B startup specializingin pain management and orthopedic products such as knee bracesorthopedic insoles and other mobility aids. Our mission is todeliver highquality costeffective solutions to healthcare providersand distributors helping improve patient mobility and quality oflife.
We areseeking an experienced Orthopedic Product DevelopmentManager to lead efforts in researching the marketidentifying product gaps and developing or redesigning products toaddress unmet needs in the orthopedic space. This is abusinessfocused role not researchoriented. The ideal candidate willhave deep experience in orthopedic product development marketresearch and supplier management. (S)He will be responsible forresearching market trends finding costeffective manufacturingsolutions (from lowcost destinations like China and Vietnam) andensuring medical efficacy before launching products into theofflinemarket.
Qualifications&Skills:
(a)EducationalBackground:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Product Management HealthcareManagement or a related field. A Master s degree is aplus.
(b)Experience:
  • 812 yearsof experience in product development or management ideally in thehealthcare medical device or orthopedicindustry.
  • Proven track record in conductingmarket research and identifying product gaps within the medical orhealthcare markets.
  • Experience working withsuppliers and manufacturers especially in lowcost destinations suchas China Vietnam or similar regions.
  • Previousexperience launching products into B2B markets specifically inhealthcare or orthopedic fields.
  • Understandingof regulatory requirements and compliance in the orthopedic andmedical deviceindustries.
(c)Technical & BusinessSkills:
  • MarketResearch: Expertise in conducting market assessmentsidentifying product needs and analyzing competitorlandscapes.
  • SupplierManagement: Strong experience in sourcing suppliersand manufacturers preferably from lowcost regions and managingvendor relationships.
  • ProductDevelopment: Ability to oversee the full productlifecycle from ideation and design to manufacturing and marketlaunch.
  • MedicalKnowledge: Familiarity with orthopedic products painmanagement solutions and the ability to work with medicalprofessionals to verify productefficacy.
  • GTM(GoToMarket): Strong experience in developing andexecuting GTM strategies for launching products in offline B2Bmarkets.
(d) SoftSkills:
  • Excellentcommunication and negotiation skills especially when working withsuppliers medical professionals and internalteams.
  • Strong project management skills withthe ability to manage timelines budgets and crossfunctionalteams.
  • Ability to make datadriven decisions andwork in a fastpaced startupenvironment.

Responsibilities:
(a)Market Research & ProductIdentification:
  • Conductcomprehensive market research to identify gaps in the orthopedicand pain management product categories.
  • Analyzemarket trends customer needs and competitor offerings to proposenew or redesigned products.
  • Work closely withthe business development team to assess demand for potentialproducts in the B2B healthcaresector.
(b) SupplierSourcing &Management:
  • Identifyand source manufacturers and suppliers from lowcost regions such asChina Vietnam or other costeffectivedestinations.
  • Build and maintain strongrelationships with suppliers negotiating terms pricing and qualitystandards.
  • Conduct factory visits (if needed)to ensure compliance with quality standards and productioncapabilities.
(c)ProductDevelopment:
  • Overseethe product development process collaborating with internal teamsto ensure alignment with market needs.
  • Workclosely with the medical team to verify the efficacy of newproducts and ensure they meet regulatory and medicalstandards.
  • Ensure the successful designprototyping and testing of new products before they are taken tomarket.
(d)GoToMarket (GTM)Strategy:
  • Develop andexecute the GTM strategy for launching new orthopedic products inthe offline market including pricing distribution and promotionstrategies.
  • Work with sales teams to introduceproducts to distributors healthcare providers and other key B2Bpartners.
  • Monitor product performancepostlaunch gathering feedback and making improvements wherenecessary.
(e)CrossFunctionalCollaboration:
  • Collaboratewith marketing sales and medical teams to align on productpositioning and market strategy.
  • Liaise withthe medical team to ensure that all products meet medical efficacyand compliance standards.
  • Work with the financeteam to manage budgets for product development sourcing and GTMactivities.
(f)ContinuousImprovement:
  • Stayuptodate with the latest trends in orthopedic and pain managementproducts as well as advancements in lowcost manufacturingtechnologies.
  • Continuously improve the productdevelopment process by adopting best practices in sourcingdevelopment and marketresearch.
