Position:Senior Sourcing Specialist Mechanical Commodities (Aerospace /Defence /Industrial)

PositionOverview:
We areseeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sourcing Specialistwith a strong background in sourcing mechanical commoditiesspecifically Sheet Metal Machining Plastics and other relatedcomponents for the Aerospace Defence and Industrial sectors. Theideal candidate will have extensive experience in the developmentand sourcing of mechanical components as well as a deepunderstanding of supplier management cost negotiation and vendordevelopment.

KeyResponsibilities

  • ComponentSourcing &Development:
    • Leadsourcing initiatives for mechanical commodities such as Sheet MetalMachining Stamping and Plasticcomponents.
    • Collaboratewith crossfunctional teams including engineering production andquality departments to ensure component specifications quality andcost targets aremet.
  • VendorIdentification &Development:
    • Identifyand develop new suppliers ensuring they meet quality cost andleadtimerequirements.
    • Managerelationships with key suppliers and ensure consistent supply chainperformance.
    • Leadvendor development activities including quality assessments auditsand performancereviews.
  • Costing&Negotiation:
    • Drivecost negotiation processes with suppliers to secure the bestpossible pricing forcomponents.
    • Useexpertise in cost analysis including labor material and toolingcosts to ensure costeffective sourcingdecisions.
    • Implementcost reduction initiatives using Value Analysis and ValueEngineering (VAVE) techniques to optimize product cost whilemaintaining quality andfunctionality.
  • Tooling& MoldDevelopment:
    • Overseetooling and mold development processes including cost estimationvendor selection and projectmanagement.
    • Ensurethe timely delivery of tools and molds maintaining alignment withproductionschedules.
  • Compliance&Standards:
    • Ensureall sourced components and suppliers comply with internationalquality standards (ISO AS) regulatory requirements and companypolicies.
    • Keepabreast of industry trends and best practices in sourcing andsupply chain management applying knowledge to optimize sourcingstrategies.
  • ProductionSupport:
    • Coordinatewith suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely availability ofcomponents for productionschedules.
    • Resolveany productionrelated issues related to supply chain delays orcomponentquality.
  • Leadership&Communication:
    • Leadcrossfunctional teams providing mentorship and fostering acollaborative workingenvironment.
    • Maintainexcellent communication with internal and external stakeholdersensuring alignment on development activities timelines andobjectives.
    • Manageand influence supplier relationships effectively ensuring highlevels of supplier performance andservice.

KeySkills &Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 10to 12 years of experience in sourcing mechanical commodities (SheetMetal Machining Stamping Plastics) within the Aerospace Defence orIndustrialsectors.
    • Proventrack record of vendor identification development and management incomplex mechanical componentsourcing.

EducationalQualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Supply ChainManagement or a relatedfield.
  • Additionalcertifications in supply chain management or project management(e.g. Six Sigma APICS etc.) are aplus.
