Oversee Seed Processing Operations:

  • Manage the entire seed processing cycle, including cleaning, conditioning, sorting, and packaging.
  • Ensure seeds are processed according to company specifications and industry standards (e.gseed purity).
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., production, quality control, logistics) to ensure timely processing and delivery of seeds.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise and lead a team of workers and technicians involved in seed processing activities.
  • Provide training on proper seed processing techniques, safety standards, and equipment handling.
  • Schedule shifts, monitor staff performance, and ensure that the team meets production targets.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Develop and enforce quality control protocols to ensure that processed seeds meet required quality standards (e.g., cleanliness, size, weight, viability).
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of processed seeds to maintain high quality and compliance with industry certifications.
  • Address any quality issues or defects by adjusting processing methods or recommending equipment repairs.

Process Optimization and Efficiency:

  • Continuously monitor and analyze the efficiency of seed processing operations and recommend process improvements.
  • Implement methods to increase productivity, reduce waste, and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Optimize the use of resources, including labor, raw materials, and processing equipment.

Compliance with Regulations and Safety Standards:

  • Ensure all seed processing activities comply with local, national, and international regulations (e.g., seed certification bodies).
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure all equipment and processes meet safety standards and undergo regular maintenance.

Inventory Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee seed inventory levels, ensuring adequate supply of processed seeds and managing raw material usage.
  • Keep track of seed production, packaging, and storage records, maintaining accurate documentation for compliance and traceability.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on processing activities, production output, and quality control.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

  • Address any operational challenges, including equipment malfunctions or production delays, to minimize disruptions.
  • Develop solutions for problems that arise in the seed processing line, such as contamination, low germination rates, or equipment inefficiency.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets for the seed processing department, including costs for labor, raw materials, and equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor expenses and optimize resource allocation to keep processing costs within budget.

Customer Relations and Delivery Coordination:

  • Work closely with the sales and distribution teams to ensure that processed seeds are delivered on time to customers.
  • Address customer concerns related to seed quality or processing delays.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Strong leadership abilities to manage a diverse team, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Experience with training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

Knowledge of Seed Processing:

  • Familiarity with seed processing technologies, equipment, and industry best practices (e.g., seed cleaning, drying, sorting, coating).
  • Understanding of seed quality standards, including germination, purity, and vigor.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Knowledge of seed testing methods and industry quality standards (e.g., germination tests, seed health checks).
  • Ability to implement and maintain effective quality control procedures in a processing environment.
