The Business Process Management and ProcessMining Centre of Excellence is hosted by Global Business Services(GBS) and operates as a Shared Service providing Business ProcessManagement and Process Mining capability across theGroup.

The purpose of thisrole is to develop and manage governed Business Architectures andGroup capability in BPM that will help the Group to simplifystandardize and move towards agile sustainable continuousimprovement using the Enterprise Activity Model Tool.

Design develop and deliver theBusiness Architecture & Business Process Management(BA&BPM) strategy and drive adoption and maturity of BPM by BP.This includes accountability for endtoend architecture design forenterprisewide activities and data actively working with the EAMGovernance Board and the process mining toolset data models andanalytics to support across GBS processes and group to providevisibility of our executed processes and identify and supportimprovement initiatives.

This role will help deliver a cultural as well as businesschange in BP encouraging emphasis on management at a process levelthrough direct authority for process architecture design;engagement with businesses functions GBS centres and BPOs andworking with IT functions to deliver the optimal technologysolutions to those undertaking BPM.

Responsibilities:

  • Build asafe compliant culture in the Business Architecture & BPM CoEimplementing and utilising the Office Safety Framework and Code ofConduct.
  • Managing a diverse team made up ofboth direct and indirect staff focused on building BPM capabilitywithin BP directed towards process standardization simplificationand optimization.
  • Ensure all HRaccountabilities are undertaken for the team.
  • Building and supporting BPM subject matter expertisewithin the Business as a whole but particularly among members ofthe BPM CoE Business Architecture governance and BPM Community ofPractice
  • Preparation and agreement of annualbudget and manage the Business Process Management CoE within budgetpreparing GFO as required.
  • Plan and maintainBusiness Architecture & BPM Strategy to drive a common way ofmanaging processes across BP through BPM methodology andplatform.
  • Act as ambassador of the BusinessArchitecture models (EAM and EDM) and for Business ProcessManagement (BPM) within BP to include:
  • Looking for appropriate opportunities topromote BPM within the Group in order to gradually achievesuccessful implementation of BPM group wide.
  • Responding to all incoming enquiries about BPM the EAM& EDM
  • Prioritize activities ofteam
  • Manage the EAM andEAM governance process including:
  • Manage EAM structure and content includingworking through all change requests with respective requestor &brokering with other parties as needed implementing changes agreedthrough formal EAM releases.
  • Work to mature the Governance model and incorporateappropriate new members as appropriate.
  • Hostquarterly governance meetings covering wider agenda itemsagreed.
  • Manage EAM release every 6 months oras changes required dictate.
  • Manage development and integration of other BusinessArchitectures as agreed including oversight of any governanceactivities this currently include the Groups process data andemerging Risk & Control architectures.
  • Execute design authority for EAM and EDM liaising withrelevant functional groups on legal and policy requirements settingand maintaining BPs methods standards and conventions for BPMensuring they are scalable and fit for purpose for all businessusers including governance through Business Process Community ofPractice which is representative of usergroup.
  • Set appropriate Quality Assurance standards to ensureintegrity of database.
  • Align with and supportother key initiatives in BP such as BP Requirements System ofInternal Control Bills of IT & Simplificationagenda.
  • Assist groups in the company toutilize the BPM methodologies & tools to support theirrespective agenda working with multiple and varied StrategicPerformance Units and Business Units as well as major Programmes ofWork and other projects with a view to supporting simplificationstandardization and continuous improvement in a sustainable way forthe Group.
  • Support development of BPMcapability in the Group by provision of BPM consultancy trainingand ongoing coaching helping users adopt BPM as a systematicmanagement approach.
  • Reportactivities/progress to EAM governance monthly.
  • Support delivery of BPM and process mining platforms asappropriate helping to deliver further development as required bythe business.
  • Keep abreast of BusinessArchitecture & BPM developments and best practice BPMmethodologies in support of business strategy andpriorities.

Key Challenges:

  • Verychallenging role due to the scale & complexity of BPsEnterprise landscape planning of architecture needs to take therequirements & anticipated requirements of the whole Group intoconsideration.
  • Potentially working with allprofessions within BP.
  • Working with vendorexternal partners and relevant institutions whereneeded.
  • Engagement & communication with adiverse range of users from process operators through to GroupLeadership.
Essential Education:
  • Suitably qualifiedprofessional with degree or similar educationbackground.

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
  • Experienced line managercapable of managing a diverse dispersed team with differingskillsets.
  • Extensive knowledge of BP orexperience of working in global multinational or similar diversebusiness environments of similar scale and complexity.
  • Extensive experience training or certification inBusiness Process Management and Process Mining
  • Experience of managing and enterprisewidearchitecture/s.
  • Fluency in BusinessEnglish.
  • Passion for driving continuousimprovement with clear evidence of same in professional or businessbackground.
  • Demonstrates experience in processmanagement and reengineering.
  • Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills required given diversenature of operating landscape.
  • Exceptionalinfluencing skills and the ability to negotiate/broker agreementcross functional and diverse teams towards common architectures andlanguage.
  • Strong bias towards systematicmanagement is a clear essential for this role given the strongfocus on adhering to an architecture standards & conventionsand governance.

  • Continuousimprovement / Quality Management experience orqualification.
  • Experience of working in anoperational environment where BPM products are ultimatelyutilized.
