JobSummary: The L2 DLP Analyst is responsible foradvanced monitoring analysis and response to data loss preventionincidents. This role involves detailed investigation of escalatedincidents finetuning DLP policies and collaborating with variousteams to ensure the protection of sensitive data. The L2 DLPAnalyst also mentors L1 analysts and provides input into thedevelopment of the organization's DLPstrategy..

KeyResponsibilities:

IncidentResponse:

  • Investigate and respond tocomplex DLP incidents escalated by L1analysts.
  • Perform indepth analysis of DLPalerts to determine the root cause and impact of potential dataloss events.
  • Lead the remediation efforts bycoordinating with IT legal and compliance teams asnecessary.
  • Document and track incidentsthrough the incident management system ensuring all actions anddecisions are recorded.

Policy Management andOptimization:

  • Assist in the creationimplementation and refinement of DLP policies and rules based onemerging threats and organizationalchanges.
  • Perform regular audits andreviews of DLP policies to ensure they are effective and alignedwith business requirements.
  • Work closely with business unitsto understand data flows and identify areas where DLP policies mayneed adjustment.

Tool Management andEnhancement:

  • Maintain and optimize DLP toolsand technologies to ensure they are functioningeffectively.
  • Collaborate with the IT andsecurity teams to deploy updates patches and configurations to DLPsystems.
  • Provide input into the selectionand implementation of new DLP tools andtechnologies.

Training andMentoring:

  • Provide guidance and mentorshipto L1 DLP analysts helping them develop their skills andknowledge.
  • Conduct training sessions for newteam members or other departments on DLPrelatedtopics.
  • Share best practices and lessonslearned from incidents to improve the overall effectiveness of theDLP team.

Reporting andDocumentation:

  • Prepare detailed reports on DLPincidents trends and overall system performance for management andstakeholders.
  • Document processes procedures andlessons learned from incidents to build a knowledge base for theteam.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatoryrequirements by maintaining accurate and comprehensive records ofDLP activities.

Collaboration andCommunication:

  • Act as a liaison between thesecurity team and other departments such as IT legal and complianceto ensure a coordinated response to DLPincidents.
  • Communicate effectively withstakeholders at various levels to explain incidents risks and theactions being taken to mitigatethem.

ContinuousImprovement:

  • Participate in training sessionsand knowledgesharing activities to stay updated on the latest DLPtechnologies threats and bestpractices.
  • Contribute to the continuousimprovement of DLP processes and tools by providing insights andrecommendations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field(or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • Familiarity with DLPtools such as Ghangor DLP orGTTB.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of dataprotection principles and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR HIPAADPDPA).
  • Strong analytical andproblemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fastpacedhighpressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and aproactive approach to incidentmanagement.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such asCompTIA Security GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or similarare a plus.

Work Schedule:

  • May require shift work or oncallavailability depending on the organization'sneeds.
