Purpose of the Role:

Work in a team environment as a key resource for theSourcing teams to develop new supply sources to improve costcompetitiveness and be the conduit between the company and thesupplier. Responsibilities will include crossfunctional programmanagement to qualify new components supporting issues with currentproduction developing new suppliers to reduce cost increasecapacity and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance.Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technicalsupport. Work on multiple phases or subtasks of projects or entireprojects of moderate complexity with results impacting on projectcompletion.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Interface with Sourcing teams to prioritize supplierdevelopment needs by component to improve cost competitiveness andsupply constraints.
  • work closely with sourcingTeam to manage implement and track supplier/engineering designchanges capacity studies and New Product Introductions andtransfers.
  • Work with Engineering (Design andManufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters andcriteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meetproduct and process requirements.
  • Researchexternal market information and entrepreneurial companies toidentify potential sources and suppliers.
  • Identity and develop new sources/alternate sources ofsuppliers.
  • Plan monitor and reviewmanufacturing activities at vendor end.

  • Periodic Vendor AuditAssessment
  • Identify and develop substitutesources for imported components/accessoriesindigenously.
  • Work with suppliers to reducethe recurring problems and improve Quality of incomingmaterials.
  • Reduce material rejections bydeveloping adequate processes at Suppliers works.
  • Prepare MIS & presentation.
  • Identify & prepare RCA/CA reports on Nonconformanceproducts.

Skills &Attributes:

  • Experience inSourcing Engineering Quality Manufacturing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing vendorqualification.
  • Vast experience with crossfunctional management.
  • Report and Procedurewriting with excellent presentation skills.
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineeringdrawings.
  • Understanding manufacturingprocesses.
  • Shows moral courage openness andhonesty in all dealings.
  • Strong processknowledge on vendor identification assessment and selectionprocess.
  • Knowledge of Tools development andPlastic moulding supplier development
