  • Support in drivingstandardization across the following Welding processes: GMAW (MIG,MAG & CMT); Laser Welding (Fiber); Resistance Welding (Spotand Projection). Create a common machine design that will allowquick changeover.
  • Responsible for follow-up ofwelding mechanical systems designs for a variety of assemblyapplications including welders, robots, conveyance, and transfersystems.
  • Applies industry knowledge andexperience to manage projects from the quoting phase throughcommissioning and production.
  • Utilizesplanning, resource, and task management skills in directing vendorsto successful implementation of projects. Can delegate and managemultiple projects at any given time.
  • capableof making autonomous decisions based on experience and projectrequirements; has specialized training either formal or throughon-the-job work experience. Travel (possibly international) isoften required until equipment is in operation.
  • Develop standard documentation on the above weldingprocesses in relationship to quality requirements of thecustomer.
  • Create technical specifications,manage equipment vendors, conduct machine runoffs, and machineacceptance studies prior to successful buy offs by ensuringsupplier compliance to Camaco Standards
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new equipment suppliers.Build relationships to ensure thorough understanding and consistentexecution of standards.
  • Provide cycle time andcost estimates on welding processes for new businessopportunities.
  • Support Product design on newprograms for Design for Manufacturing
  • Responsible to assign, follow-up and approve vendor workrequirements throughout design phase.
  • Responsible to follow-up and ensure vendor progress thatmeets or exceeds project timing.
  • Responsiblefor analyzing scope of work during pre-award phase and to assist indevelopment of manpower plan requirements to complete projectwithin time constraints defined in the project timeline.
  • Responsible to give updates to project team includingcost projections as engineering changes occur during the life cycleof the project.
  • Responsible to work withcustomer to finalize design requirements, reviews and approvalsthroughout design phase.
  • Responsible forInstallation Risk Assessment, Safety & CE Risk Assessmentand MFMEA.
  • Works with the Ergonomic Committeeto complete ERAs on equipment.
  • Works with theEngineer Manager to ensure cross functional communication is takingplace when there’s a “process change”that affects engineering and/or other departments
  • Continuously improve existing welding processes forenhancing welding productivity and reducing downtime.
  • Support the Plant and launch teams to investigate theroot cause of weld quality issues from customers and developcorrective action plans.
  • Research advancedwelding technologies for new projects.
  • Research advanced weld monitoring technologies for newproducts.
  • Coordinate manufacturing launch fornew and revised products across facilities.
  • Support internal and external teams during the conceptdevelopment process for the industrialization of customerprojects.
  • Conduct time and method studiesestablishing time standards for welding operations.
  • Develop and manage welding-related processFMEA’s and other process documentation.
  • Refurbish and repurpose equipment based on global programlaunches and production needs.
  • Ensure globalcompliance with IATF16949 and other quality, environmental,manufacturing and customer standard requirements.
  • Simulate the welding process to ensure torch access andangles are met.
  • Develop a process to ensurecorrect welding parameters are established andmaintained.
