  • Responsible for the design,development, commissioning, and ramping of high-speed automatedlaser welding equipment, while working in a cross-functional teamto test, validate, and roll out process and product designchanges.
  • Drive laser cell reviews of processdesign, fixture design, simulations, cycle time plan, line layout,equipment maintenance strategy, and optimizing towards high-speedlimits.
  • Responsible for Managing the Laserwelding mechanical systems for a variety of assembly applicationsincluding Manual weld shop, robots, conveyor, and transfersystems.
  • Provide technical support to theDesign team and work closely with R&D on laser weldingtechnologies.
  • Responsible for dailymaintenance and Calibration of Laser source and power Pocketmonitor
  • Responsible for weld implementationfor future model launches and process improvement.
  • Responsible for continuous process optimization in acurrent production environment
  • Responsible fordriving and understanding customer specifications, both corporateand plant for use in all aspects of mechanical designs.
  • Responsible for supporting production personnel in rootcause analysis and problem resolution of production throughput,quality, and cost challenges.
  • Providedirection on the application of welds during process development tooptimize line throughput while still maintaining customer weldspecifications.
  • Develop Laser weldingtechniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment toproblems involving the fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledgeof production specifications, properties and characteristics ofmetals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.
  • Establishes welding procedures to guide production andwelding personnel relating to specification restrictions, materialprocesses, and pre and post-heating requirements which involve useof complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of criticaljoints, and complex post heating requirements.
  • Lead new welding development research.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues both internally and withsuppliers (processes and equipment)
  • Developand specify welding standards and best practices.
  • Improve welding equipment OEE.
  • Responsible for Maintaining weld fixtures andcalibration, Shim Logs.
  • Responsible forEngineering Changes.
  • Perform experimentalwelding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, andmaterials.
  • Develop, monitor, and reportproduction measurables and productivity incentive plans.
  • Support and troubleshoot 8D / Problem resolutionmethods.
  • Responsible for IATF16949documentation requirements.
  • Perform otherduties as assigned.
