Role Summary: We are looking for a dynamic professional to coordinate the work of the organisation in the states of northern India, under the direction and supervision of the Operations Manager. This person will have a direct impact on children with disabilities, improving their access to education. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for work in the following areas:

  • Program Planning and Support: Supports the planning and logistics of project actions by the India Operations Manager to improve services for children with disabilities and their families
  • Reach and Impact: Supports the creation of written and visual materials in English and other local languages to communicate program results and objectives to current and potential partners and donors
  • Training and Technical Support: Supports the continuing needs of the programs in the assigned states with organisation's training and technical support

Essential duties, responsibilities and expectations include the following:

Model Programs:

These are schools that the organisation supports to become model programs for children with disabilities.

  • Support the Organisation's Representative in the country in the selection of model programs in states/provinces.
  • Follow up with the Organisation's Representative in the country on agreements and negotiations made with state or provincial governments and other allied organizations, such as local universities.
  • Management of visits to schools and organization of the corresponding follow-up meetings, under the supervision of the organisation's Representative in the country.
  • Maintain direct contact with the supervisors of the model programs.
  • Maintain a record of complete documentation for each model program in states/provinces.
  • Travel to selected schools in states/provinces for program evaluation at least three times a year depending on budget.
  • Coordinate the application of the organisation's quality indicators and evidence collection (videos, photographs, testimonials) in the selected programs for internal and external use.
  • Create an annual action plan for each of the model programs.
  • Obtain authorization from family members and educational personnel for the internal and external use of evidence.
  • Compliance with the budget allocated for in-person visits to the selected schools.
  • Follow up on model program requests.
  • Coordinate the work carried out with the families of the model programs.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office and Google Suite and ability and curiosity to learn new tools.

Experience:

  • Degree in a related field or seven (7) years of related experience preferred; An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Availability to travel 50% of the time.
