- Stockup the assigned kitchen with raw materials and ingredients on adailybasis
- Befamiliar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment inthe kitchen and observe safety precautions when handlingthem
- Master all basiccooking methods like cutting of ingredients and preparing dailymisenplace for the assignedstation
- Preparefood items as per standard recipe cards whilst maintaining portioncontrol and minimizingwastage
- Applynecessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety andhygiene standards(HACCP)
- Cleanand maintain all equipment within the food productionarea
- Promptlyreport any hazards unsafe working conditions or equipment whichrequires repair or maintenance to immediatesupervisor.
- Provideeffective support to the team to enable them to provide a range ofeffective and efficient services.
- Ensure toexceed guest expectations in quality and service of the foodproducts.
- Cooperate with staff in each sectionas assigned by the Executive Chef to ensure the proper use ofequipment and efficient completion of alltasks.
- Maintain personal grooming andhygiene to ensure standards aremaintained.
- Liaise with the Cateringand Stewarding Departments in a professional manner to ensure eventobjectives are achieved and standards are maintained at alltimes.
Qualifications:
- Previousexperience in the culinary fieldrequired
- DiplomaCertification in a Culinarydiscipline an asset
- Highly responsible& reliable
- Ability to work well underpressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability towork cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of ateam
