Job Purpose:
The Assistant Store Manager at Reliance Brands Limited plays a key role in supporting the Store Manager to ensure the store meets its operational KPIs and sales targets. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing team performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards, and contributing to the development of staff. The Assistant Store Manager will also help drive store profitability through effective people management and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Operations & Profitability:
- Compliance & Operational Standards: Ensure all store activities comply with company policies, brand standards, and regulatory requirements. Uphold operational excellence in customer service, merchandising, and inventory management.
- KPI Monitoring & Staff Performance: Support the Store Manager in tracking, reviewing, and ensuring all KPIs are met for the store staff on an ongoing basis. Provide feedback and take corrective action to ensure targets are consistently achieved.
- Sales & Profitability Support: Contribute to the achievement of store sales goals and profit targets. Assist in identifying opportunities for sales growth, cost control, and enhancing the customer experience.
People Development:
- Team Support & Mentorship: Mentor and support store staff to drive high performance, improve skills, and ensure that store standards are maintained. Actively participate in coaching and motivating the team to achieve operational and sales goals.
- Staff Development & Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate knowledge sharing among store staff by promoting best practices, training initiatives, and learning opportunities. Ensure that staff is well-equipped with product knowledge, customer service techniques, and store processes.
- Talent Pipeline: Work with the Store Manager to help identify and nurture high-potential employees, ensuring the creation of a strong talent pipeline for future store leadership roles.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Assist in Staff Scheduling & Hiring: Support the Store Manager in managing staffing levels in line with the business plan, ensuring that the store is adequately staffed to meet customer demand. Participate in the recruitment process to hire the best-fit candidates for the store.
- Motivate & Engage Staff: Foster a positive and motivating work environment by providing continuous support and feedback to the store team. Help create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Performance Management: Assist in conducting performance reviews, setting individual goals, and helping employees develop personal and professional skills.
Operational Support:
- Day-to-Day Operations: Assist with the day-to-day management of store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, stock replenishment, and visual merchandising.
- Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service. Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- Retail Experience: 3-5 years of experience in retail, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.
- Team Management: Proven ability to manage and develop a positive and productive team, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
- Operational Expertise: Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and sales strategies.
Skills & Competencies:
- Leadership & Coaching: Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to coach and develop staff at all levels. Able to motivate the team to consistently meet performance targets.
- Analytical Skills: Solid analytical skills, with the ability to assess store performance data, identify trends, and propose solutions to improve performance.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate goals, provide feedback, and communicate clearly with both the team and customers.
- Multitasking & Time Management: Able to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify operational issues, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions effectively.
