Job Description

Role Purpose

  • Responsible for Syngenta Core Business in Tea plantations and Value Chain programs in East
  • Scan the value chain and Partnerships environment in the operational areas and look for new opportunities / partners.
  • Be a single point of contact for value chain partners, Cooperatives, institutions, organizations, FPOs ….
  • Identify, Develop and Address the needs of the value chain and partners.
  • Develop the offerings for the partners with support of asset team / regulatory /development team.
  • Generate the business / commercial success for Syngenta by implementing / delivering the offerings.
  • Develop an overall understanding and be an expert for the key crops / segments you would be handling.

Accountabilities

  • Explore value chain and partnerships environment in the Divisions, Meeting new clients and develop leads.
  • Maintain and develop a very strong relationship with the key decision makers of value chain and partners.
  • Develop the solutions package, drive implementation, do the audit, report back, keeping the focus on improving the market share / wallet share in the project areas.
  • Create the Business plan and modus operandi to deliver the target for the responsible geography / strategic products.
  • Ensure that right people are available to deliver the business aspiration. Have a fully motivated, engaged and energized workforce.
  • Plan and create demand generation activities through FTPs, Farm Days etc in co-ordination with the commercial team and value chain partners.
  • Manage relationship with cross functional teams for support – marketing, commercial, finance, supply etc.

Qualifications

Critical knowledge

  • Agriculture Graduate / Post Graduate
  • Good agricultural practices / Food Safety / Sustainability / secondary standards
  • Evolving trends in food industry (Retail / Processing / Exports)
  • Grower behavior and agro business trends in the operational area
  • People management /development skills

Critical experience

  • Experience in the areas of value chain, direct handling of corporate, institutions, cooperatives, FPOs and food industry players.
  • Work experience in plantations, Tea is required
  • Working experience in various facets in the agriculture industry, especially in the output business area
  • Proven leadership skills / collaborative working experience.
  • Proven track record in being a good team player and team management skills
  • Strong ability to understand customer needs, structure and business drivers

Additional Information

Besides developing and maintaining the relationship with external stakeholders, the candidate needs to strongly collaborate with internal cross functional teams.

Asset team: Development of crop protocol keeping in mind partner requirement. Product technical information / fitment / positioning. 

Regulatory: Registration in crops and label extension information. Support with MRL information from destination countries.

Tech Support: Implementing the technical protocol in the field. Development of crop protocol and guidance

Commercial: Arranging the products wherever required. Organizing the chemical kits. Providing the field support to the projects. 

Sustainability: Support the implementation of Good Growth Plan as it is a key enabler for value chain

Implementation of reference farms as agreed.

Stewardship: Impart trainings to the Value Chain partners on safe use / handling / storage / application technology. Organize the PPE / information materials
