Transcounts is an Accounting Company based in Mohali, PB. We provide back-office support to meet the outsourcing bookkeeping requirements of our clients in Canada and the USA. We believe in effectiveness, innovation, collaboration, and integrity. We aim to grow rapidly in 2024 and the coming years. This position is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background in Canadian and US operations. We are looking for someone who can commit for long-term and wants to grow with the company. 

 

New Client Onboarding: 

  1. Onboarding new clients from setting up chart of account in QuickBooks/XERO to catching up their bookkeeping backlog (period can be 6 months to 3 years). 
  2. Later switching these onboarding clients into monthly accounting clients, streamline their processes, preparing checklists and transition to regular accounting team. 
  3. Understanding the clients’ sales and business operations to design onboarding plan. 
  4. Ability to plan and execute the entire onboarding & bookkeeping catchup approach, tasks, requirements from client, steps and final deliverables with timelines. 
  5. Collaborate with internal team to get accesses to apps for each new client. 
  6. Real time communication with client and reporting manager along with sharing weekly progress report with client. 
  7. Arranging bookkeeping data, statements, missing invoices and software accesses from clients (emails/calls). 
  8. Confident to prepare bank queries (suspense account) for clients and fixing them in QBO/XERO when answered by client. 
  9. Double checking your work before sharing with clients/manager. 
  10. Bank, credit card and loan account reconciliations. 
  11. Inventory & COGS reconciliations along with in-transit inventory and advance payments to suppliers. 
  12. Financial reports preparation, review and finalization. 
  13. Preparing year-end financial for the client and year-end package for the tax accountant. 
  14. Understanding of year end adjustment journal entry and matching final trial balance with the corporate tax return provided by the tax accountant. 
  15. Understanding taxes payable and return filing timelines for all your clients. 

 

Day to day work and collaboration 

  • Catching up on the emails and checking for any actionable items.  
  • 30 minutes of planning + prioritizing deliverables + collaboration with internal teams. 
  • Taking 2 to 3 clients to complete pre-determined tasks/deliverables. 
  • Making sure you are following the right process for new onboarding client, regular check in with your manager, receiving feedback and improving the onboarding experience for your clients. 

 

 

 

 

Must have (skills and knowledge): 

  1. 2 years of experience working in outsourced accounting in public practice environment. 
  2. 3 years of strong knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Xero. 
  3. Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken. Handle daily emails for your clients with a communication style that is clear, concise, and empathetic. 
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, where you hack everything and always look for creative ways to get the job done. 
  5. Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. 
  6. Ability to work independently on 15-30 clients with minimum guidance and errors. 
  7. 1 year of experience of team management. 

 

Nice to have (skills and knowledge): 

  1. Hands-on experience with Canadian or USA Sales Tax, Payroll Tax & Corporate Tax. 
  2. Hands-on experience with other latest accounting related apps such as Dext, Hubdoc, Plooto,  Fathom, ADP, Google Drive, Slack. MS Teams, Zoom Video etc. 
  3. Hands-on experience with ecommerce accounting apps such as Shopify & Amazon, Square, PayPal, A2X, Cin7, Avalara etc.

  6. Good understanding of full cycle bookkeeping and payroll along with other compliance like workers compensation, T4/T4A, EHT, W2/1099 etc.

  2. Number of clients transitioned to regular accounting team with full SOP and checklists.

  1. 20-minute phone screening with HR. 
  2. 30-minute Virtual Interview with the Anmol Singh (Practise Manager). 
  3. 2 hours of technical test and one-on-one Interview with HR and Anmol Singh. 
  4. 15-minute Cultural fit interview with Aman Mittal. 
  5. Background Reference Check & Offer.
