Overall adherence to safe practices and procedures of oneself and the teams aligned Contributing to development of procedures, practices and systems that ensures safe operations and compliance to company’s integrity & quality standards Driving a corporate culture that promotes environment, health, and safety (EHS) mindset and operational discipline at the workplace at all times. Ensuring safety of self, teams and lab/plant by adhering to safety protocols and following environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace. Ensure all assigned mandatory trainings related to data integrity, health, and safety measures are completed on time by all members of the team including self Compliance to Syngene’ s quality standards at all times

Core Purpose of the Role: Designs to prevent and recover from potential threats. primary goal is to ensure that the organization can continue to operate or quickly resume critical functions during and after a disruption.

Role Accountabilities

Strategic Planning and Development

Developing the BCP:

Create, update, and maintain the business continuity plan to ensure it is comprehensive and effective. Help companies continue operating during and after such crises. Focus restoring an organization’s IT systems post-crisis.

Risk Assessment:

Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization. These risks can include natural disasters (such as fire, flood, or weather-related events) and cyber-attacks.

Business Impact Analysis (BIA):

Perform BIA to determine the impact of various disruptions on business operations and prioritize critical functions.

Coordination and Communication

Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with different departments, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure all aspects of the BCP are addressed.

Communication Plan: Develop and maintain a communication plan for effectively disseminating information during a disruption.

Testing and Drills

BCP Testing: Plan and conduct regular tests and drills of the business continuity plan to ensure its effectiveness.

Tabletop Exercises : These are scenario-based discussions where participants simulate their response to a hypothetical disaster. Test BCP procedures, identify gaps, and improve coordination. Simulations : Include real-time decision-making. Simulations can be conducted at various levels (individual, team, or organization-wide). Training Programs : Conduct regular training like evacuation procedures, communication protocols, and resource allocation. Crisis and Incident Management : Effective incident management minimize risk

Continuous Improvement:

Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate the results of tests and drills, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments to the BCP. Conducting post-incident reviews to learn from real-world events and enhance your BCP. Benchmarking: Stay updated on industry best practices and standards for business continuity and incorporate them into the organization's BCP

Compliance and Audit

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the BCP complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Audit Coordination: Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits of the business continuity program. Has implemented prior and can help Syngene with ISO 22301 certification for BCPTop of Form

Accountabilities as a Syngene Leader

Champion effective Environment, Occupational Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) practices for the company and oversee compliance with those practices within Biologics business. Play an active leadership role in monitoring and verifying safety performance through Gemba walks and other safety-led activities. Foster a corporate culture that promotes an environment, occupational health, safety, and sustainability (EHSS) mindset as well as the highest standards of quality, integrity, and compliance. Specific requirements for this role

Experience: Candidate should have least 12-18 years relevant BCP experience in Manufacturing Industry Education: MBA from Top Tier 1/2 colleges

Skills and Capabilities:

Technical skills - In-depth knowledge of BCM principles, frameworks, and best practices. Ability to conduct BIA to assess the impact of disruptions on critical business functions. Crisis Management : Skills in crisis management and emergency response planning. IT Disaster Recovery : Understanding of IT disaster recovery planning and practices. Analytical Skills – Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to develop effective continuity strategies. Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex situations and make informed decisions quickly. Data Analysis: Capability to analyze data from risk assessments, BIAs, and test results to identify gaps and areas for improvement. Communication skills – written and verbal communication; senior stakeholder engagement and influencing skills Interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently with EC & Board members Ability to think through hypothetical situations and concepts and to identify risks and weaknesses in various business processes. Ability to collaborate with others to develop an emergency plan Should have track record of successfully running Business Continuity Planning in medium to large corporates or should be working in the Business Continuity Planning practice of an advisory firm Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practice
