Role: Software Architect (Automotive)

Work Location: Chennai/Kochi/Pollachi (Work from office only)

NP: Immediate – 45 days (serving NP)

Exp level: 9 -14 years

Minimum Education: B.E/B.Tech in Electronics/Automotive/Electrical/Software Engineering



\Key Responsibilities:

• Design software architecture for Android-based infotainment system and cockpit domain controller

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, hardware engineering, and product management to define the scope and formulate design guidelines to ensure compatibility across systems.

• Prepare system architecture and high-level design documents that detail software and hardware requirements, interfaces, and interactions.

• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to integrate third-party components and technologies into the overall system architecture.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in automotive software development, and apply this knowledge to improve system design and functionality.

• Prepare quote response to Customer RFI and RFQs

• Lead technical discussions with automotive SOC suppliers

Required skill and technical expertise:

• Over 7- 8 years of relevant experience in software architecture and development, with a focus on Android-based systems.

• Strong knowledge of Android application development, including experience with Android SDK, NDK, and Android Studio.

• Good knowledge of Cluster algorithms, Functional safety concepts, and Cyber security design.

• Experience designing and developing software solutions for automotive applications, including familiarity with automotive standards and protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, MOST, Ethernet).

• Knowledge of software development methodologies and tools, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

• Must have Automotive Systems & Vehicle Electrical Architecture, Automotive vehicle interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, LIN ) and software knowledge

• Customization experience in different layers of Android OS (App layer, Middleware, and HAL)

• Complete understanding of the AOSP build system

• Experience in boot time optimization

• Experience with Android Automotive Power schemes and data retention mechanism

• Experience in C++ and C development.

• Experience in Smartphone Projection Technologies - Android Auto, Carplay, Carlife, etc., and Media stack for Infotainment Head Units.

• Understand Android Auto and Carplay certification requirements

• Worked on a minimum 5 mass-production project

• Good knowledge of multiple OS like QNX, Android, Linux, and RTOS

• Good knowledge of HMI rendering and tools – QT, CGI Studio, Kanzi, Android Studio, etc.,

• Good knowledge of Audio and Connectivity profiles and audio routing strategy

• Good knowledge of Cluster algorithms and Functional safety design ASIL B / ASIL C

• Worked on ASPICE Level 2 projects and exposure to the Level 3 process
