3. They will need to do a long term rental vs.their personal vehicle this will be reimbursed byClient. PURPOSE OF POSITION :
Client Optical Communications (COC) Engineering Services (ES)department needs an experienced Project Manager to join our ProjectServices (PS) group. The successful candidate will be responsiblefor outside plant fiber optic projects for major customersprimarily in the eastern US. This position is based in Scranton PAthat will support a large aerial fiber optic build. Candidate mustbe able to the office site and job sites as needed. The positionprimarily covers Fibertothe Home (FTTH) projects including SFU(single family) MDU (multidwelling) and FTTB (business) projectsfrom design to test and turnup. Ideal candidate must be able towork behind a desk and on a job site as needed. MAJOR ROLES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and drive theproject teams to deliver the intended shortterm and longtermresults.
Development of project schedules. Organize& communicate schedules and timelines.
Reviewdrawings and specifications to become completely familiar with theproject and identify long lead times and critical pathitems.
Work with Sales Program Managers and DealManagement to obtain contracts and purchase orders. Assist withcreating written estimates for customers based on engineering laborand materials.
Oversee preconstruction site surveys toverify cable routing identify any obstacles that may result inadditional construction costs and take fieldmeasurements.
Monitor fiber optic plant constructionactivities to ensure products are being installed within customerguidelines and manufacturer standard recommended procedures(SRP).
Visit project sites to evaluate progress andrespond to customers concerns or questions. Direct contractoractivities if needed.
Provide daily reports outliningconstruction progress on all installations located in the assignedarea of responsibility.
Communicate with sitesuperintendents about delays and any other issues that must becommunicated to clients.
Participate in weekly/monthlyforecasting meetings to offer input into dates and risk associatedwith timing of revenue recognition.
Organize or attendweekly project meetings as requested by the customer and keepdetailed meeting minutes for publishing to project team andleadership.
Communicate and follow up with customersrequests as required about specific projects.
Visitcustomers as needed to ensure satisfaction and discuss any newprojects being planned.
Process invoices for customersand/or vendors based on services rendered.
Track andreport on material status for projects.
Update projectdata in various systems; create reporting and trackingspreadsheets.
Create submittals and purchaseorders.
Assemble the closeout documents for customers.Attend pre/postinstallation meetings.
Consult withBusiness Ops to ensure reports match the revenue recognition timingwithin SAP.
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENGTducation and ExperienceRequirements
10 years of Telecommunicationsindustry experience
5 years of OSP telecom constructionproject management experience
BA or BS degree inrelevant studies desired
Experienced with telecom fiberoptic network construction methods and equipment
PMPcertification a plus
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Read and understandFTTX (fiber to the home) NDS and CAD designs
Workingunderstanding of fiber optic network architectures
Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Office products: Excel WordPowerPoint Outlook
Strong organizationalskills
Strong written and oral communicationskills
Ability to handle rapidly changingpriorities
Attention to detail with focus on errorfreework
Sound problem solving and decisionmaking processesand skills
Ability to maintain composure andprofessional demeanor at all times

Resultoriented and responsive; utilizesnetwork SMEs and other available resources to facilitate drivingtasks to closure
Strong interpersonal skills to supportcustomer interface consultative activities and work as part of acommercial team.
Working knowledge of fiber optictesting procedures
Experience/familiarization/workingknowledge of tier 1 telco internal systems/software aplus
Willingness to work outside of normal scheduledbusiness hours when necessary
100% fluent inEnglish. DESIRED SKILLS :
Knowledge of utility construction and project planningprocedures
Familiarity with Procore project managementsoftware
Experience with AutoCAD and GISbasedsystems
Understanding of RUS (Rural Utility Service)Codes
Ability to troubleshoot potential warranty issuesusing Client provided equipment such as Optical Time DomainReflectometers (OTDR) Visual Fault Locators (VFL) and Optical TestSets.
Familiarization with Client products. TRAVEL:
