Director, Analytics & Data Science Director, Analytics & Data Science Director, Data Analytics Req ID FY|S&M|#5 Location(s) Hyderabad, India; Work arrangement(s) Hybrid (works from home and New Relic office throughout the week), Office (works primarily in a New Relic office) Your opportunity We are searching for a highly capable and experienced Director of Data Science to lead our Analytics and Data Science team. The ideal candidate will be a strong hands-on business and technical leader with a strong background in the areas of data analysis, programming and statistical modeling. As the Director, you will play a critical role in helping our business make data-driven decisions, providing strategic leadership and leveraging the power of data science to drive business performance, innovation, and growth. What you'll do

Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing cross functional analytics and data science team through strong mentoring, coaching, and vision.

Partner with business stakeholders to understand their challenges, and design strategies and scalable solutions to tackle these challenges using data.

Establish and implement end-to-end data science project goals and schedules.

Build and maintain machine learning models, forecasting tools and algorithms 

Deliver actionable insights to business leadership through complex data analysis.

Foster a culture of fast experimentation and iterative learning.

Evaluate new and emerging data technologies and data science trends, providing guidance and recommendations to senior management for achieving strategic objectives.

This role requires

A master's degree Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is preferred; 

A minimum of years of experience in an analytics or data science role, with at least 7 years of leadership experience.

Strong background in Business Intelligence including data pipelines, data models and visualization and dashboards is needed

Strong understanding of machine learning models, data mining, and statistical theory.

Experience with data science programming languages such as Python, R

Deep knowledge of SQL and experience with big data tools and platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake etc.

Proven experience implementing and scaling data science capabilities in an organization.

Exceptional skills in problem-solving, project management, and team leadership.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus points if you have

Experience with AWS platform including Sagemaker

Demonstrated ability to influence strategic direction from a data perspective across the organization.

Experience in the field of observability 

Track record of developing and productionalizing data products
