Senior HVAC Engineer

Job DescriptionOverviewTo meet the increasing demand of our expertise in the nuclear industry, we have now multiple opportunities for Senior Engineers with experience ranging from 8 - 20 years in design and engineering of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to join the nuclear team at our AtkinsRéalis India offices. You will be working across our business, for different global regions in supporting design of HVAC systems for both nuclear power plants and conventional facilities. As we support our clients you may be expected to travel and work from client sites across the geographies we work in as the role, project or secondment requires.There has never been a more exciting time to join the industry as we engineer a cleaner, zero-carbon future for our planet.Your roleThe work is varied and may include some or all of the responsibilities mentioned below:Designing HVAC systems, including calculating heating and cooling needs, selecting appropriate equipment, and detailing system/equipment specifications.Preparation of piping and duct layout/general arrangement for new installations and for replacement and upgrade of systems and components.Preparation of conceptual and detail design packages, including optioneering, design development, and concept evaluation.Design and implementation of engineering changes/system upgrades in brown field projects.Production of manufacturing packages, equipment selection (including material selection), coordination with manufacturer/contractor, review of vendor drawings/documents.Production of deliverables such as design definition and substantiation documents, detailed equipment specifications, component/material specifications.Preparation of plant maintenance schedules, access and maintenance strategies, technical risk assessments, and commissioning strategies.Development of project technical proposals, scopes, schedules and budget estimates.Walk-downs to assess system configuration, evaluation of system/component degradation and material condition.Witness the pre-commissioning/commissioning activities by the contractor/vendor and produce/review all relevant documentation.Strategy development for in-service inspection and testing.Review of 2D and 3D CAD drawings/models and bill of materials.Plant refurbishment, operational improvement and life extension studies.Performance analysis of operating HVAC systems and design improvements.About youCandidate should possess some or all of the following qualifications, skills and experience.Graduate or post-graduate in mechanical or other relevant engineering.Experience in Nuclear, Power, Oil & Gas or other highly regulated industrial environment preferred.Experience in HVAC systems for nuclear facilities for different radiation and contamination levels.Experience in design, selection and specification of HVAC mechanical equipment.Experience in duct/piping layout and duct/piping design.Working experience in HVAC software such as IES/HAP.Experience in handling brownfield packages, in particular power plant systems and utilities.Demonstrable knowledge of design projects, or relevant knowledge of process plant operations is desirable.Ability to carry out detailed design, analysis and review others work.Ability to understand and define client's requirements, plan and schedule deliverables, timelines.Knowledge of fabrication drawings and processes.Familiar with international design codes and standards for design of HVAC systems.Strong delivery culture, maintaining strict timelines is must.Proven computer aptitude, and expertise in MS office.Experience of providing strong technical advice and guidance on mechanical engineering design to the client.Exposure to field installation, commissioning and testing of design changes.Experience in supporting construction and commissioning phases.Ability to work independently or as part of team, flexible attitude to the type of work and the level of responsibility accepted.Experience in production of drawings for equipment layout.Have excellent communication skills and motivated by working within a dynamic and diverse project delivery environment.Be willing to travel internationally and willing to work flexibly with occasional out of hours work to accommodate project and client requirements.BenefitsA competitive salary offered to the right personEmployees' Provident Fund Scheme (PF)Medical Insurance for the employee and familyAccident Insurance coverage for the employeeAnnual bonus/Gratuity schemeReward & benefitsExplore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive - at every stage of your life and your career.This includes: • Comprehensive life insurance coverage.• Premium medical insurance for you and your dependents.• Generous annual leave balance.• Flexible and hybrid work solutions.• Remote work opportunities outside of country.• Company gratuity scheme.• Discretionary bonus program.• Relocation assistance.• Employee Wellbeing Program: 24/7 access to specialists in finance, legal matters, family care, personal health, fitness, and nutrition.Seize every opportunity to sharpen your skills, expand your expertise, and be recognized for the impact you make.About AtkinsRéalisWe're AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization.
