Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site/hybrid role located in Gurugram for a Senior Shopify & E-Commerce Designer. We are developing a new Shopify-based e-commerce platform and are seeking a Senior Shopify & E-Commerce Designer to lead its design, build, and optimisation. The platform will serve a global audience and must combine a modern, editorial aesthetic with a smooth, high-performance shopping experience.

This role requires someone who can design and implement the front end, configure Shopify for international functionality, and continuously improve site performance through data-driven optimisation. The ideal candidate blends creative design ability, technical Shopify skills, and an analytical mindset to deliver a high-quality digital experience from concept to launch.

Qualifications

Website Design & Build

Design and launch a Shopify storefront with a premium, editorial aesthetic.

Customise Shopify themes for intuitive navigation, product pages, and checkout.

Configure Shopify for global commerce (multi-currency, duties/taxes, Stripe, card payments).

Optimisation & Analytics

Develop and execute a complete SEO strategy: including keyword research, competitor benchmarking, and on-page optimisation

Integrate high-impact keywords into product titles, categories, and content for better search visibility.

Implement technical SEO best practices and track performance using Google Search Console.

Set up analytics (GA4, Shopify Analytics) and use data on traffic, conversion rate, AOV, bounce rate, and site speed to continuously improve UX and content performance.

E-Commerce Enablement

Define product categories, collections, and merchandising rules aligned with customer intent.

Build product page templates (PDPs) optimized for an intuitive, high-conversion shopping experience.

Set up essential CRM/email flows (welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase).

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure SSL, GDPR/cookie banners, and international compliance policies are in place.

Create process documentation for uploads, tagging, and site audits to streamline operations.

Conduct regular site audits for accuracy, speed, and performance integrity.

Strategic Contribution

Deliver weekly progress and performance reports with actionable insights.

Preferred (not required)

• Familiarity with digital product cataloguing or ERP integrations.
• Experience working with fashion or lifestyle brands.
• Exposure to visual storytelling or e-commerce photography direction.
• Portfolio.
• Candidates with international education or exposure, such as those who have completed IB, IGCSE, or university studies abroad are preferred, as this experience brings a valuable global perspective.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and the ability to communicate with clarity and professionalism are essential for this role.

Compensation

Competitive and based on experience. For the contract period, payment will be structured monthly, with scope for performance bonuses and potential full-time conversion upon project completion.
