Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning & Execution: Develop and execute detailed test plans for solar hybrid inverters and UPS home energy systems ranging upto 10kW, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, performance, and reliability aspects.
  • Component-Level Testing: Conduct in-depth testing of power electronic components, including IGBTs, MOSFETs, gate drivers, capacitors, inductors, and transformers, to assess their performance and reliability within inverter systems.
  • Compliance & Standards Adherence: Ensure all testing procedures and outcomes comply with international standards such as IEC, UL, and BIS, particularly focusing on safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), thermal management, and insulation integrity.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting test results, deviations, and recommendations for design enhancements.
  • Collaboration with Design Teams: Work closely with design engineers to provide feedback on test findings, contributing to the optimization of inverter system designs for improved performance and reliability.
  • Test Automation & Tool Development: Develop and implement automated test scripts using tools like LabVIEW, Python, or Shell scripting to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Test Equipment Management: Operate and maintain advanced test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal chambers, electronic loads, high-voltage probes, and data loggers, ensuring calibration and readiness for testing.
  • Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation: Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for any test failures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of power electronics, particularly in the context of inverter systems, including knowledge of IGBT and MOSFET characteristics and failure mechanisms.
  • Testing Methodologies: Proficiency in various testing methodologies, including double pulse testing (DPT), multicycle testing (MCT), and dielectric withstand tests, to evaluate switching behavior, thermal performance, and insulation reliability.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, ensuring accurate data interpretation and effective troubleshooting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively document test procedures, results, and collaborate with team members.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with simulation and testing software such as MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve testing objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Professional certifications in power electronics or related fields.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in testing solar hybrid inverters, UPS systems, or similar power electronic devices.
