Job Description QA/QC Engineer

  1. Quality Assurance (QA) Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Assurance system. - Prepare Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP). - Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards (IS, ASTM, BS, etc.), and codes. - Review material submittals, method statements, and technical documents. - Conduct internal quality audits and site inspections. - Ensure preventive measures are implemented to avoid rework. - Verify subcontractors' compliance with quality procedures. - Ensure calibration and certification of equipment/instruments. - Coordinate with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors.

  2. Quality Control (QC) Responsibilities - Inspect incoming materials and verify Mill Test Certificates (MTC). - Monitor site activities for compliance with drawings/specifications. - Conduct tests for concrete, steel, soil, welds, coatings, etc. - Maintain daily QC inspection reports and records. - Witness laboratory and field tests (cube test, slump test, NDT, etc.). - Identify and document non-conformances (NCRs) and corrective actions. - Verify approved drawings and revisions are used at site. - Carry out inspection of finished works before client/consultant inspection. - Support commissioning and final handover documentation.

  3. Documentation & Reporting - Prepare and maintain QA/QC records, checklists, and logbooks. - Ensure test results are recorded, filed, and traceable. - Prepare weekly/monthly QA/QC reports for management and client. - Maintain updated Quality Manuals, QAP, and Method Statements. - Prepare and submit Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Work Inspection Requests (WIR). - Compile As-Built documentation and QA/QC dossiers for handover.

  4. General Responsibilities - Liaise with Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Site Engineers. - Train and guide site engineers/workforce on quality standards. - Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance with QA/QC. - Monitor suppliers and vendors for quality compliance. - Participate in progress meetings, client inspections, and technical discussions. - Ensure continuous improvement in QA/QC processes.
