Role Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong foundation in robotics and automation to design and develop AGV/AMR platforms and robotic arms. The role focuses on concept design, 3D modeling, structural analysis, and integration of mechanical subsystems for high-performance robotic systems.

You will work closely with electronics and control teams to ensure complete mechanical–electrical integration, from initial concept through prototype and production-ready design.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical structures and assemblies for AGV/AMR and robotic systems.

Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings.

Perform mechanism design for drivetrains, suspension, lift modules, and arm joints.

Optimize design for weight distribution, manufacturability, and serviceability.

Design robotic arm links, end-effectors, and joints ensuring mechanical strength and precision.

Conduct tolerance analysis, fitment validation, and interference checks in CAD.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for electronics and sensor integration.

Support prototype fabrication, testing, and design iterations based on feedback.

Research materials, design methods, and new manufacturing techniques for efficiency improvement.

Required Skills & Expertise

Core Mechanical Design Skills

Proficiency in CAD tools: SolidWorks / CATIA / Creo / Fusion 360.

Strong grasp of mechanism design, machine elements, and kinematics.

Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and motion simulation.

Experience in sheet metal, machined parts, and welded structure design.

Expertise in tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T.

AGV/AMR Design Expertise

Structural design of robot base, chassis, suspension, and wheel modules.

Understanding of drive configurations (differential, omnidirectional, mecanum).

Integration of LiDAR, sensors, and battery systems into mechanical architecture.

Knowledge of center of gravity optimization, ground clearance, and shock load design.

Robotic Arm Design Expertise

Design of multi-axis robotic arms, linkages, and joint mechanisms.

Experience with servo/stepper motor selection, gearbox design, and joint housing.

Understanding of robot kinematics, torque calculation, and payload analysis.

Development of end-effector and gripper designs for industrial applications.

Familiarity with ROS integration, sensor alignment, and actuator mounting layouts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

2–4 years of experience in robotics, automation, or mechatronic systems design.

Strong analytical and creative design approach.

Experience in R&D and prototype development preferred.
