Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with 3 - 4 years of experience in automotive product design, especially in instrument clusters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end mechanical design, packaging, and integration of components for automotive display and gauge systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components for automotive instrument clusters, considering performance, cost, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using tools like CATIA V5, Creo.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (electronics, software, industrial design, and validation) to ensure seamless product integration.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMEA, and design validation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFS (Design for Serviceability) requirements are met.
  • Support prototyping, tooling, and product testing phases.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation, BOMs, and change control records.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and issue resolution throughout the development cycle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 - 4 years of experience in automotive mechanical design, specifically with instrument clusters or similar cockpit systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD tools like CATIA, Creo.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, plastics design, injection moulding, and mechanical packaging.
  • Good understanding of automotive standards, validation protocols, and PPAP processes.
  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
