Role & responsibilities

  • Perform 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections using CMM and other tools like height gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Create and modify CMM programs based on 2D/3D models
  • Interpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD models with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Prepare inspection reports, deviation notes, and maintain inspection records in line with ISO/TS/IATF standards.
  • Ensure calibration status of measuring instruments and CMM is up to date.
  • Assist during internal/external audits by presenting inspection records and evidences.
  • Highlight non-conformities and communicate effectively with Production/Tool Room for corrective action.
  • Conduct layout inspection for new product development and submit PPAP/FAI reports.

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in CMM inspection (preferably Zeiss or Mitutoyo CMMs).
  • Knowledge of CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, ACDMS, GEEOPACK 4.2/3).
  • Familiarity with plastic injection moulding parts and tolerance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • Roughness text & Video Measuring System (Software - Rapid I)
  • Manpower Handling
  • 3D scanner - (added advantage)
  • Calibration Activity - MSA (Measuring system ananlysis) & SPC (Statistical Process analysis)
  • Tool knowledge - Tooling process
