Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) Test Automation Lead to design, develop, and execute automation frameworks for validating TSN-enabled industrial Ethernet devices. This role requires strong expertise in Python-based test automation, TSN/Ethernet protocols, industrial communication systems, and hands-on leadership in verification and validation environments. The ideal candidate will lead test strategy, automation development, and ensure conformance to IEEE and industrial standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of Python-based automation frameworks using pytest, Robot Framework, or custom automation setups.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for TSN protocols such as IEEE 802.1AS, Qbv, Qbu, Qci, Qcc, Qav, and industrial Ethernet technologies (Profinet, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA TSN).
  • Perform functional, performance, synchronization, latency, bandwidth, and redundancy testing for industrial network devices and switches.
  • Define test strategies, coverage criteria, and long-term automation roadmaps for TSN-enabled products.
  • Utilize network analysis tools (Wireshark, Scapy, Ostinato, Spirent, Ixia) for traffic generation, packet capture, and protocol validation.
  • Validate clock synchronization accuracy using IEEE 1588 PTP tools and methodologies.
  • Work closely with firmware, networking, and systems teams to identify, analyze, and resolve TSN performance or interoperability issues.
  • Mentor automation engineers, review scripts, enforce coding standards, and promote test automation best practices.
  • Document test architecture, automation design, test cases, reports, and traceability matrices.

Mandatory Skills

  • Programming: Python (pytest, unittest, Robot Framework, or custom automation frameworks).
  • TSN & Ethernet Protocols: Strong understanding of IEEE 802.1AS, Qbv, Qbu, Qci, Qcc, Qav, VLANs, QoS, and IEEE 1588 PTP.
  • Industrial Networking: Experience with Profinet, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, or EtherCAT.
  • Tools & Equipment:
  • Network sniffers: Wireshark, Scapy
  • Traffic generators: Ixia, Spirent, Ostinato
  • Time sync/PTP tools: Meinberg, Keysight, Tektronix, or equivalent
  • CI/CD & Version Control: Jenkins, Git.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with industrial automation products, including controllers, switches, and edge gateways.
  • Familiarity with OPC UA TSN, Industrial IoT (IIoT) test setups, and Edge connectivity.
  • Exposure to Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or system-level validation test environments.
  • Working knowledge of test management tools such as JIRA or TestRail.
  • Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or Computer Engineering.

Skills to Be Evaluated

  • Experience in industrial automation and embedded networking test ecosystems.
  • Hands-on expertise in TSN/industrial Ethernet validation and automation.
