Coleto Brands is committed to offering high-quality and innovative lighting solutions to meet diverse residential needs.Role DescriptionSupplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and managing supplier quality, ensuring compliance with quality management standards, and implementing quality control processes. The day-to-day tasks will involve developing and maintaining supplier quality standards, collaborating with suppliers to resolve quality issues, and conducting regular supplier evaluations.QualificationsSupplier Quality Management and Supplier Quality skillsExperience in Quality Management and Quality ControlExpertise in Supplier Evaluation processesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsBachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related fieldExperience in the lighting or manufacturing industry is a plusPrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Global cross functional teams (US and China teams) to drive Supplier quality deliverables for NPI (New products), VA_VE and other product transfer projects.Drive Supplier quality deliverables such as Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Gage R&R, Control plans, Process capability studies and acceptable finish criteria during initial product release.Partner with vendors to drive design validation and production validation runs and ensure first pass yield >98%.Partner with vendors on mistake proofing methodology to prevent issues highlighted during risk assessmentPartner with vendors on process development for secondary processes and final assembly.Partner with vendors on finish development and evaluationPartner with vendors to drive actions to address production quality issues.Champion problem solving and root cause analysis initiatives with Suppliers using structured quality methods, to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.Perform periodic process audits of key processes at suppliers with critical issues.Perform Supplier qualification audits, when qualifying new suppliers.Establish and generate Supplier Quality metrics. Review trends and drive appropriate actionsLead supplier performance improvement projects for Strategic suppliers.Drive "Zero Defect" mentality within Supply base.Ensure Supplier inspection and test criteria align with Coleto's quality goals.All other duties the supervisor/company might assign.Preferred key skillsThree (3) to five (5) years' experience in similar field and function.Be proficient in Statistical process control techniques (Pareto, Sampling plans, Gage R&R, Cause and Effects diagram, Cp, Cpk etc).Ability to read and Interpret Engineering drawings.Expect 30-50% domestic travel. Occasional International travel may be required.Experience in Finish development and evaluation.Experience in Mechanical Assembly Operations, working with vendors in developing mistake proofing jigs.Understanding of Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Materials and Supplier Quality interaction.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point).Other SkillsMust have good English speaking and written skillsMust be proactive, have learning aptitude and willing to learn new manufacturing processes.Must be a team player and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.Must be able to assess finishes to ensure compliance with Master finish standards.Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while knowing when to ask for help.Self-starter with strong personal work ethic.Ability to ask questions and resolve issues as they arise.Team player.Ethics and Integrity.Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis.Priority Setting and Task Management
