Senior Design Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Design Engineer to lead and manage design activities in the aerospace and defense manufacturing sector. This role involves driving the design and development of advanced systems and components, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and project objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Design Development:
  • Lead the design and development of complex aerospace and defense components, subsystems, and assemblies.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed 3D models, drawings, and technical specifications using advanced CAD tools.
  • Perform advanced calculations and analysis (e.g., stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics) to validate designs.
  • Project Management:
  • Plan and manage design activities to meet project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure project success.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide clear feedback to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure designs comply with aerospace and defense standards, regulatory requirements, and certifications (e.g., AS9100, MIL-STD).
  • Stay updated on advancements in aerospace materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Mentorship and Team Development:
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical expertise and professional growth.
  • Act as a technical resource, providing expertise on engineering principles and best practices.
  • Prototyping and Validation:
  • Collaborate with testing teams to address performance, safety, and reliability challenges.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation efforts, interpreting test data to refine designs.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience:

Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in design engineering, with significant exposure to aerospace and defense manufacturing.

  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of FEA and CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
  • Expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • In-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, including composites, machining, and additive manufacturing.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense regulations and certifications.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends.
