Job Title: Tamil to English Translator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tamil to English Translator to accurately convert written or spoken content from Tamil into English. The ideal candidate will have excellent command over both languages, a strong understanding of cultural nuances, and experience in translation across various domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate a wide variety of content (documents) from Tamil to English with high accuracy.
  • Ensure translations retain the original meaning, tone, and intent of the source material.
  • Edit and proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.
  • Work with clients or internal teams to clarify meaning and context when necessary.
  • Meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fluency in both Tamil and English (spoken and written).
  • Proven experience as a translator or similar role.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of Tamil and English cultural and linguistic nuances.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with translation tools/software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a specific field ( literary).
  • Ability to translate both formal and informal content.

Job Type:

  • Full-time Contract - 8 Months

Location:

  • On-site

Salary:

  • Based on experience and project scope - (20,000 to 27,000)

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary

Contract length: 8 months

Pay: ₹20, ₹27,000.00 per month
