Job Title: Quality Assurance Incharge

​Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Incharge is responsible for ensuring that all sheet metal components and fabricated assemblies meet the required quality standards, specifications, and customer expectations. This role involves managing the QA team, implementing quality systems, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement to maintain product reliability and process consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and industry standards.
  • Supervise incoming, in-process, and final inspection of sheet metal parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
  • Ensure that all quality control procedures are followed during fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly operations.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation as per customer and internal requirements.
  • Analyze quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers for quality-related matters, audits, and non-conformance resolutions.
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection instruments, gauges, and measuring equipment.
  • Train and guide QA/QC inspectors and production teams on quality standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate and lead internal quality audits and support external certification audits.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) to enhance product and process quality.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, etc.).
  • Proficiency in measurement tools (Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM, etc.).
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other quality management systems.
  • Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office, ERP systems, and quality documentation tools.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
  • Certification in Quality Management or Six Sigma (preferred).

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the sheet metal fabrication or related manufacturing industry.
  • Prior experience leading a QA/QC team is highly desirable.
