About the Role

We are looking for a skilled
SAP CAPM (Cloud Application Programming Model) Java Developer
with strong hands-on experience in building cloud-native applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate should have expertise in Java-based CAP development, OData services, database modeling, and integration with SAP and third-party systems.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

  • Design, develop, and deploy applications using
    SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP)
    with
    Java
    .
  • Build scalable, secure, and resilient services and microservices on
    SAP BTP
    .
  • Develop and expose
    OData/REST APIs
    using CAP Java.
  • Implement data models using
    CDS (Core Data Services)
    and handle persistence with SAP HANA or other supported databases.

Integration & Cloud Enablement

  • Integrate CAP applications with
    SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP CPI
    , and other external systems.
  • Develop applications using SAP BTP services such as
    XSUAA, Destination Service, Cloud Foundry, API Management
    , etc.
  • Configure and manage deployment pipelines for SAP BTP applications (CI/CD).

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving

  • Troubleshoot application issues, performance bottlenecks, and deployment errors.
  • Write efficient and reusable Java code aligned with CAPM best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects and functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Documentation & Best Practices

  • Prepare detailed technical design documents and maintain code quality using industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP's security, performance, and architectural guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience
    in Java development.
  • Minimum
    2+ years of hands-on experience
    with
    SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
    using Java.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Java / J2EE
  • Spring / Spring Boot
  • OData / REST API development
  • CDS (Core Data Services)
  • SAP HANA or SQL-based databases
  • Experience working with
    SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry / Kyma)
    .
  • Good understanding of microservice architecture and cloud-native principles.
  • Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, or any CI/CD tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience integrating with SAP systems using
    SAP CPI, API Business Hub, or OData services
    .
  • Knowledge of
    CAP
    (optional but beneficial).
  • SAP BTP Extension Suite certification.
  • Experience with agile methodologies.

Other Requirements

  • Strong communication and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexible to work in global delivery or shifted timings as needed.
