The Colleague Experience Group (formerly HR) is focused on providing a great colleague experience every day. Within CEG, the Colleague Services (CS) organization plays a critical role in providing outstanding services, capabilities, data, and insights to enable that great colleague experience. The organization builds and operates products and services to enable CEG and the business

The Global Compensation Servicing team oversees the execution of Global Compensation programs for all colleagues at Amex, including merit, incentive and off cycle compensation payouts. The team achieves this by collaborating closely with stakeholders in our Colleague Total Rewards and Wellbeing COE, to guarantee that compensation processes operate smoothly and effectively, and always adhering to risk and compliance guidelines to ultimately provide a great colleague experience.

The Workforce Compensation Manager is an operational leader responsible for managing and optimizing compensation programs across the organization. This role ensures that compensation structures are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business goals, while also overseeing the execution of compensation processes in systems such as Oracle Workforce Compensation (WFC). The manager will collaborate with CEG, Finance, and external vendors to deliver seamless compensation servicing and governance.

The Workforce Compensation Manager will make a critical impact by leading the configuration, testing, and operational readiness of Oracle Workforce Compensation module to support global compensation cycles. Through proactive issue resolution, platform optimization, and stakeholder engagement, the manager will enhance compensation servicing efficiency, reduce risk, and enable scalable, compliant, and colleague-centric compensation experiences across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with COEs, product and tech teams to design, implement, and maintain compensation frameworks including salary bands, incentive plans, and pay transparency files.
  •  Lead annual and mid-year compensation cycles, including setup, User Acceptance Testing, and execution in Oracle WFC (Workforce Compensation).
  • Partner with Global Compensation and Line of Business (LOB) teams to assess recruitment ranges and matrix-defined pay structures.
  • Oversee compensation servicing activities including mass changes, special use templates, and error resolution.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing of compensation transactions.
  • Manage data integrity and system readiness for compensation events, ensuring compliance with internal governance and external regulations.
  • Drive enhancements in compensation systems and tools, including Oracle WFC and integrations, partnering across COEs, Product, Technology and vendor teams.
  • Identify and address gaps in technical and functional knowledge across teams.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and annual timelines in collaboration with internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  •  5+ years of experience in compensation management, preferably in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation systems (Oracle WFC) and data governance.
  •  Experience managing vendor relationships and outsourced service models.
  •  Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certification in Compensation (e.g., CCP, GRP) is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate complex compensation structures and regulatory environments.
  • Proven track record of leading compensation cycles and system implementations.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Comfortable working across time zones and cultures.
