A fast-growing FMCG brand in the healthy snacking and packaged foods category, backed by strong consumer traction and ambitious growth plans. The company is expanding its retail footprint across India and is looking to build a strong general trade distribution network from the ground up.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial
National Sales Manager (General Trade)
to lead and scale the GT business pan-India. This is a setup and expansion role, ideal for someone who enjoys building teams, processes, and distribution systems in a dynamic, growth-stage FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute the national GT sales and distribution strategy to drive market coverage and revenue growth.
- Distribution Setup: Identify new markets, onboard distributors, and establish a robust retail presence across urban and semi-urban regions.
- Sales Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performance sales team across zones and regions.
- Execution Excellence: Drive achievement of sales targets, monitor trade spends, and ensure effective scheme implementation.
- Channel Management: Strengthen relationships with distributors and retailers; optimize margins and trade programs for sustainable growth.
- Market Insights: Continuously track competition, pricing, and trade dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure strong in-market execution.
Candidate Profile:
- 12–17 years of FMCG sales experience, with strong exposure to general trade channels.
- Proven experience in setting up or scaling GT distribution networks across regions.
- Prior experience in an emerging FMCG brand environment preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, market-driven approach.
- Deep understanding of channel economics, distribution management, and retail execution.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and team-building skills.
