Roles and Responsibilities
- Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques;
 - Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images; Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department;
 - Taking responsibility for radiation safety in your work area including checking equipment for malfunctions/errors, managing referrals to ensure patients receive a radiation dose as low as reasonably possible and safely supervising visiting staff and patients in radiation work areas;
 - Assisting in more complex radiological examinations working with doctors such as radiologists and surgeons;
 - Providing support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs; Paying close attention to detail, such as annotating images correctly, to prevent errors and completing documentation quickly and accurately;
 - Supervising assistant practitioners, students and other staff, and delivering appropriate education and training;
 - Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionising radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.
 - Explaining the procedure and the duration to the patient. Make them understand and feel comfortable during the procedure.
 - To check daily before starting daily work that the equipments and their components are properly cleaned and tables and linen etc. are changed, neat and clean.
 - To study the requisition and check carefully and provide necessary instructions to the patient/ attenders, before taking the investigation.
 - To ensure that the investigation is taken of the correct part of the body as indicated in the requisition slip.
 - To keep abreast of various rules and regulations, regarding charges for different examinations and to make necessary steps to educate others and follow them in their respective sections.
 - Responsible for proper Care and safe handling of equipments, Instruments, Furniture, accessories and all other material , including proper switching on and shutdown, proper usage, etc.
 - Responsible for the biomedical waste management in their work area.
 - To take precautions to protect himself, patient and other workers of the department from the hazardous of radiation, and adopt safe as per AERB guidelines.
 - Work practices in the department.
 - To assist Senior Radiographers, Radiologists/ others in any procedures during the investigations.
 - To carry the portable equipments to the other departments of the hospital and take the radiograph of the patients who are seriously ill.
 - Ensure proper handing over and taking over of duty and information.
 - Assure patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity.
 - Responsible for the care, safety and physical comfort of the patient having the investigation.
 - To perform duty as per allocated duties and also attend to emergency duties.
 - Any other duties as assigned by the Management From time to time.
 - Reporting to Department Head.
 
Preferred candidate profile
- state license and certification to practice.
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
 - Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
 - The ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment.
