Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced SAP BASIS Consultant with strong expertise in SAP HANA upgrades, migrations, and system administration. The role involves managing end-to-end SAP landscape operations, including system installations, upgrades, performance tuning, and technical support for SAP environments on HANA and S/4HANA platforms.

Role & responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and manage SAP HANA database upgrades and migrations (including OS/DB migrations).
  • Perform SAP system installations, refreshes, copies, and patch management for ECC, S/4HANA, BW, and other SAP components.
  • Administer and maintain SAP HANA systems, ensuring optimal performance, backup, recovery, and system availability.
  • Conduct performance tuning, system health checks, and capacity planning for SAP and HANA environments.
  • Handle user administration, roles, authorizations, and transport management across SAP landscapes.
  • Manage SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) setup for system monitoring, EWA configuration, and ChaRM.
  • Coordinate with SAP functional and infrastructure teams to resolve system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, change management processes, and IT governance standards.
  • Support cloud migration initiatives (AWS, Azure, GCP) and HANA system replication setups.
  • Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and post-upgrade support.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience as an SAP BASIS Consultant.
  • Proven experience in SAP HANA upgrades, migrations, and S/4HANA conversion projects.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HANA 2.0 / S/4HANA administration, DB refresh, system copies, and patch upgrades.
  • Expertise in SAP system architecture, transport management (STMS), client strategy, and performance tuning.
  • Experience in SAP Solution Manager 7.2, ChaRM, System Monitoring, and EWA reports.
  • Understanding of OS-level administration (Linux/Unix/Windows) and database management (HANA, Oracle, MS SQL, DB2).
  • Familiarity with backup and restore procedures, DR setup, and high availability (HA) environments.
  • Good troubleshooting skills in kernel updates, SPAM/SAINT, SUM, SWPM tools.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Good to Have:

  • Experience in SAP Cloud Platform (BTP) or cloud-hosted SAP environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration and performance tuning.
  • Experience in SAP security and GRC integration.
  • SAP BASIS or SAP Certified Technology Associate SAP HANA 2.0 / S/4HANA certification preferred.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant SAP certification(s) preferred.
