Job Summary:
The IT Assistant will support the organization's IT infrastructure by assisting with hardware, software, network troubleshooting, and user support. They will ensure smooth and secure operation of all IT systems and respond promptly to technical issues faced by staff and students/employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, printers, and network issues.
- Assist staff/students with login issues, email setup, and basic software usage.
- System & Network Maintenance:
- Assist in routine maintenance of computers, servers, and network devices.
- Monitor internet connectivity and resolve basic network-related problems.
- Installation & Configuration:
- Install and configure operating systems, software, antivirus, and system updates.
- Set up new devices and peripherals.
- Data & Security Management:
- Assist in maintaining data backup systems and ensure proper data security.
- Report any suspicious activities or security threats to senior IT staff.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain records of repairs, inventory of IT equipment, and issue logs.
- Assist in creating user manuals and providing basic IT training if required.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma/Graduate in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, Windows OS, and MS Office.
- Understanding of networks (LAN/WAN, routers, switches).
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks.
Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Knowledge of CCTV setup, biometric systems, or IT assets management.
- Experience with antivirus and data backup solutions.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems.
