The Opportunity: Product Manager - Conversational Systems

We are building a WhatsApp-based conversational assistant that helps citizens access and complete complex government processes in a simple, natural way. Many users—especially those less digitally literate—struggle with multi-step online forms, verification processes, and language barriers. Our assistant solves this by guiding them through every step of registration, eKYC, and application submission via chat, in multiple Indian languages. We are looking for a Product Manager who combines analytical discipline, user empathy, and delivery excellence to lead this product's next phase of growth. The ideal candidate is a system thinker—someone who can connect the dots between users, data, technology, and measurable outcomes.

As Product Manager – Conversational Systems, you will own the product's end-to-end success. You will define how we evaluate performance, understand user behavior, and execute improvements that drive higher completion rates and user satisfaction. You will translate insights into structured experiments, measure results rigorously, and ensure that every improvement is backed by data and clear documentation. This is a high-ownership role ideal for someone who thrives on clarity, precision, and outcome-driven execution

Key Responsibilities

1. Evaluation & Analytical Rigor (50%)

2. Define, monitor, and improve product KPIs such as completion rate, OTP success, cost per journey, and satisfaction.

3. Design and implement LLM evaluation frameworks to assess chatbot accuracy, hallucination rate, fallback success, and tone.
4. Build simple measurement systems—dashboards, KPI trees, and evaluation loops—that translate data into decisions.
5. Lead quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify root causes, measure impact, and close the feedback loop.

6. Maintain structured documentation in Notion—clear KPIs, experiment logs, evaluation reports, and decision history

7. Product Sense & User Empathy (25%)

8. Understand the experience of users with low digital literacy and design flows that feel natural, clear, and trustworthy.

9. Collaborate with conversation designers and language specialists to ensure consistency, tone, and multilingual inclusivity.
10. Translate user research and feedback into data-backed hypotheses for improvement.
11. Balance empathy and evidence—prioritize what matters most to the user while keeping measurable outcomes in sight.

12. Represent the voice of the user during all technical and design discussions.

13. Execution & Project Management (25%)

14. Convert goals into detailed execution plans—sprints, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.

15. Coordinate across engineering, design, QA, and data teams to ensure timely, high-quality releases.
16. Manage risks proactively—anticipate issues, create mitigation plans, and ensure accountability.
17. Produce structured weekly updates, sprint retrospectives, and decision summaries in Notion. Maintain an operational rhythm of measurement, reflection, and iteration—every release must have clear before-and-after impact.

Who Will Thrive in This Role? -
You'll love this role (and we'll love working with you) if You:

• Have 4+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years with conversational products, chatbots, or LLM-powered systems.
• Think in systems - can connect product design, analytics, and execution into a coherent whole.
• Are fluent in defining success metrics and using data to guide iteration.
• Write with clarity and structure -your documentation can serve as a source of truth for the team.
• Understand conversational UX, multilingual context, and user trust-building.
• Are comfortable working with tools like Notion, Jira, Trello, Google Sheets, and basic analytics dashboards.
• (Bonus) Know Marathi or another Indian regional language.
• (Bonus) Have experience with WhatsApp Business API, , or similar platforms
• Are Analytical and structured-you see ambiguity as an opportunity to define clarity.
• Are Empathetic - you care about user struggles and take pride in solving them elegantly.
• Are Outcome-oriented - you measure everything, but never lose the human story behind the data.
• Disciplined in documentation - you know that well-written artifacts keep teams aligned.
