Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, configure, and optimize MongoDB instances across all environments.
  • Perform regular Database Health Checks to identify performance degradation or anomalies.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Develop and maintain backup plans, restore processes, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Design and implement indexing strategies to maximize database efficiency.
  • Configure, monitor, and deploy replica sets and sharded clusters, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot replication lags and node synchronization issues.
  • Upgrade databases using patches and version upgrades as required.
  • Create and manage database users, roles, and permission structures.
  • Ensure databases achieve maximum performance, scalability, and availability.
  • Write and maintain stored procedures and scripts to support operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for database performance tuning.
  • Good to have: Basic working knowledge of Cosmos DB.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of MongoDB administration, configuration, and security.
  • Experience with replica sets, clustering, sharding, and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of indexing, query optimization, and storage engines.
  • Knowledge of scripting for automation.
  • Experience with backup tools, monitoring solutions, and incident resolution.
