Job Purpose

To provide visionary leadership to the Placement & Internship teams at MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU), ensuring alignment with institutional objectives and delivering maximum outcomes through strategic and operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic

  • Develop and communicate a clear vision and annual goals for Career Services & Internships aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Guide HoDs in creating and refining process documents and workflows to streamline daily operations.
  • Design, implement, and promote programs that support Career Services & Internship objectives.

Operational

  • Lead and manage the Placements & Internships team, offering advice, support, and oversight for daily operations.
  • Recruit and onboard talent to meet departmental human resource needs.
  • Build team capacity through training and development initiatives.
  • Conduct regular reviews with direct reports to ensure goal alignment and accountability, including periodic updates to the CEO-CIAP.
  • Actively participate in tasks that ensure smooth functioning of departmental operations.

Financial and Budgetary

  • Oversee financial decisions, including budget creation, monitoring, and audit compliance for the Placements & Internships Office.

Collaborations

  • Cultivate partnerships with academic heads and industry leaders to optimize internship and placement opportunities.

Academic

  • Drive continuous improvement in students career outcomes, including competency development, internship quality, PPOs, and final placements.
  • Enhance student satisfaction by addressing academic challenges, internship preparedness, and career planning.
  • Foster a culture of positivity, collaboration, and quality in all placement and internship activities.

External Representation

  • Represent MIT WPU at prestigious professional forums, strengthening community, governmental, and societal ties to bolster the university's brand.
