About The Role

• We are seeking a high-ownership Associate Finance Controller who will take charge of our books of accounts, drive month-end closure with precision, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain regulatory compliance, support audits and internal financial governance.
• This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on CA who wants to grow into a Financial Controller role over the next few years. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys process improvement, is detail-oriented and willing to roll up their sleeves when needed.
• You'll play a central role in ensuring accurate books, timely closures, and audit-ready financials, while partnering closely with business, store ops, and tech teams.

What You'll Be Doing?
Financial Close & Control

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations - journals, reconciliations, and ledger reviews.
• Drive month-end closure discipline with accurate provisioning for expenses, accruals, depreciation, and amortization.
• Maintain and reconcile sub-ledgers (AP, AR, FA, Inventory, etc.) ensuring clean trial balance each month.

Financial Reporting & MIS

• Prepare monthly financial statements - P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow - in accordance with Ind AS.
• Perform variance analysis against budgets and prior periods; highlight key cost and margin trends.
• Support the preparation of management dashboards, board decks, and investor MIS.

Compliance & Taxation

• Ensure timely GST and TDS filings, reconciliations, and vendor compliance.
• Support statutory and tax audits, ensuring documentation and accuracy in reporting.
• Maintain compliance under the Companies Act and other applicable laws.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Review vendor payments for accuracy and ensure proper accounting of discounts, credit/debit notes, and reconciliations.
• Drive automation and hygiene in AP/AR workflows.
• Monitor aging, recoveries, and working capital metrics.

Store Accounting & Inventory Controls

• Review store-level accounting for expenses, collections, and deposits.
• Own inventory accounting for FOFO and COCO stores, ensuring accurate valuation and provisioning for shrinkage, damage, and obsolescence.
• Coordinate with operations and supply chain for book-to-physical reconciliations.

Audit & Internal Controls

• Prepare audit schedules, manage queries, and ensure clean audit closures.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and documentation across accounting processes.
• Support creation and implementation of SOPs and finance policies.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify opportunities for automation and workflow efficiency within ERP and in-house tech.
• Partner with Tech/Product teams to improve data integration and accuracy.
• Contribute to building a scalable finance backbone suitable for 500+ stores.

What You Should Bring?

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Prior exposure to Retail, FMCG, or multi-location businesses is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Ind AS, GST, TDS, and Companies Act provisions.
• Hands-on experience in Zoho Books, Tally, or SAP; advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• High ownership mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage tight timelines.
