Job Role:

  • Create a conducive policy environment for Altius as an Infra Provider.
  • Ensure strong alignment and consistency of policies across the Central, State and Municipality levels.
  • Maintain strong civic society connect through workshops, seminars, thereby aligning with Digital India/Smart cities and Make in India concept.
  • Provide impetus to 'Emerging Business' and pave the way to drive business growth.
  • Carry out external policy advocacy and internal alignment to drive agenda.

Job Responsibilities are:

Conducive Policy Environment Creation -

  • Ensure build up on special status of 'Infrastructure Provider' (as a registrant) accorded by Government and ensure that Altius does not get into licensing regime entailing high license fees
  • Obtain direct land and building sites allocation from DoT and ensure that Altius as an independent IP1 player gets fair deal by promoting sharing of passive infra.

Policy Alignment-

  • Ensure coverage across the entire country's major states and coordinate with Telecom Ministry, DOT, TRAI and state chief secretaries as also urban development/IT departments at state level
  • Align major municipal corporations policies with state policies, particularly commercial terms and permission documents.

Society Connect-

  • Alleviate people's concerns regarding EMF radiation, health hazards and neighbourhood issues impacting infra roll-out
  • Accelerate multiple central and state ministries support to build up a national awareness campaign and specific programs at local city level through state telecom councils.
  • Emerging Business Support-
  • Ensure effective advocacy for national data networks deployment policy for emerging networks including 'In Building Solutions' and WiFi hotspots
  • Work closely with TRAI and DoT on connecting with Digital India program
  • Strategic involvement with BSNL and MTNL for new end to end solutions including financial strategy for active & passive elements and widen scope of business engagement with these government operators
  • Focus on bulk government and public institutions for facilitation of site acquisition and related permissions from organisations viz CSCs, India Post, defence, railways and CPWD

Policy Advocacy-

  • Engage effectively through external industry bodies like TAIPA, ASSOCHAM, CII, COAI, AUSPI, etc. to build consensus regarding the regulatory framework
  • Liase effectively with internal departments like Legal, Deployment, BD and Finance Teams.

Educational Qualification : MBA (Finance) and/or Business Development

Technical Competencies :

  • Knowledge of municipal corporations policies and state policies

    Legal and Statutory Compliance

    Regulatory and DoT Understanding

    Knowledge of Telecom/Tower Laws Behavioral Competencies All Altius Core Competencies Language Proficiency in English and Hindi.
  • Relevant Experience - 10 years of regulatory within the telecom/telecom infrastructure industry
  • Overall Experience - 10 years of regulatory within the telecom/telecom infrastructure industry
