Job Purpose

To handle end-to-end procurement and job work outsourcing activities for façade fabrication, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with technical requirements, and cost efficiency. The role links engineering, vendors, production, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of outsourced fabrication work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Planning Based on BOM

  • Start the procurement and job work sourcing process immediately after the BOM is released by the Design Team.
  • Study the BOM, fabrication drawings, and project requirements to identify material and job work needs.
  • Prepare procurement plans with timelines aligned to project schedules.

2. Job Work Coordination & Execution

  • Identify and coordinate with job work vendors for fabrication, machining, welding, bending, powder coating, glass installation, etc.
  • Share drawings, BOQ, and specifications with vendors and ensure clarity of scope.
  • Conduct vendor capability assessment—capacity, infrastructure, quality, and reliability.

3. Technical Clarification & Vendor Support

  • Provide first-level technical clarifications to vendors on fabrication details.
  • Coordinate with the Design/Engineering Team for complex clarifications or revisions.
  • Review and approve initial samples before full production.

4. Tracking, Monitoring & Delivery Follow-Up

  • Create job work purchase orders and ensure timely dispatch of materials for outsourcing.
  • Track the progress of job work daily and follow up for committed delivery dates.
  • Coordinate logistics for inward and outward movement of material, ensuring proper documentation.

5. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Work with the QC team for inspection of job work materials.
  • Reject and follow up for rectification of items failing to meet specifications.
  • Maintain proper documentation—inspection reports, delivery challans, job work return slips, etc.

6. Vendor Management

  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain a pool of reliable job work vendors.
  • Negotiate competitive rates for job work and ensure cost control.
  • Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and maintain reports.

7. Cost Control & Documentation

  • Maintain updated cost sheets for job work activities to support budgeting.
  • Monitor vendor billing and verify job work invoices before submitting to Accounts.
  • Track consumption, wastage, and utilisation of materials used in job work.

8. Issue Escalation & Risk Management

  • Identify risks such as vendor delays, quality issues, or design mismatches early.
  • Escalate critical risks with recommendations for mitigation.
  • Ensure no disruption to project timelines due to job work dependencies.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of façade systems, aluminium fabrication, metal processing, job work methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOQ, and fabrication details.
  • Vendor negotiation and coordination capabilities.
  • Strong follow-up, documentation, and ERP usage skills
  • Problem-solving and communication skills across departments (Design, Production, Projects).

Qualification

  • Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in façade procurement or fabrication outsourcing.
