Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems and schemas to ensure reliability, availability, and performance.
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations as needed.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and caching.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery.
• Develop and enforce data security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database deployments and application releases.
• Automate database provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline workflows and improve release cycles.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to manage database environments using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS CloudFormation.
• Monitor and manage system and application logs, metrics, and alerts using monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Implement and maintain version control systems for database schemas, configurations, and scripts.
• Provide guidance and support to development teams on best practices for database design, optimization, and performance tuning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, with proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Experience with database backup and recovery, replication, and high availability solutions.
• Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
