**Project** Description**:
The job includes working with the various technology teams, developers, vendors, and management of new landscape setup. The Engineer will be responsible for the administration, installation, configuration, and support of DB2 databases on standalone and clustered environment for multiple clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- Meets degree/educational requirements or has equivalent work experience
- 5 to 9 years' experience in relevant Database administration
- Able to deal with complex issues involving customers and vendors
- Strong skills in the administration of DB2 Databases.
- Well experienced in common Unix and Windows Platforms
- Perform Installation, upgradation, migration of DB2 Database software's.
- Demonstrate ability to automate and maintain automation for core job functions
- Advanced skills in platform administration tasks including installation, patching, clustering, log-shipping, and tuning
- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in team projects
- Perform related duties as required and provide off-hours support for Database related issues

**Skills**:
Must have
- Good experience on High availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) experience with DB2 HADR with TSA (Tivoli system automation)
- Good experience in Replication Queue/SQL
- Experience in implementing backup and recovery strategies, replication, and database performance tuning on LINUX/UNIX platform
- Database migration experience (On premises & Cloud) including various upgrades.
- Experience in automating database maintenance and database monitoring including operational 24x7 support in troubleshooting.
- Experience in staging the new DB2 servers builds
- Knowledge of refresh activities at table level and other DB refreshes in prod/non-prod environments.
- Experience in performing database loads and unloads, tablespace containers and resize on tablespaces
- Good experience in Database restores including Redirected restores and backup concepts
- Hands on experience in Table range partition, Multi dimension clustering, Materialized query tables
- Data movement utilities like IMPORT, LOAD, and EXPORT under high volume conditions.
- SQL Tuning using db2advisor and db2explain tools.
- Troubleshooting database issues using db2diag, db2pd, db2dart, db2support, db2top.
- Database performance tuning by configuring database and instance Parameters.
- Should have good knowledge on Latest DB2 features.
- Administration of database objects such as indexes, tables, views, constraints, stored procedures
- Capacity Management and storage management
- Design, test, and optimize/tune RDBMS components
- Excellent understanding of ITIL process (Incident, Change and Problem management processes)
- Should be flexible to work in 24X7 shift operations
- Capable of handling escalation independently
- IBM certified administrator
- Industry certification in at least one of the cloud technologies
- Demonstrates strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Proven ability to work in cross-cultural environments
- Ability to interact with customers regarding business and technical information and issues
- Demonstrates strong team building skills - ability to work as a team

- Insurance domain experience
