Safety Steward

The Safety Steward plays a key role in supporting health and safety practices across real estate sites, including residential or commercial properties, construction areas, and real estate events. This position ensures the safety of site personnel, visitors, and the general public by monitoring safety compliance, assisting in site procedures, and responding to potential hazards.
Experience: 2+ years.
Experience in High rise buildings mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Safety & Monitoring
- Monitor access to properties and construction sites, ensuring all workers and visitors follow sign-in procedures.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and site conduct.
- Conduct regular inspections of designated areas to identify hazards and report them to the site or safety manager.
- Ensure emergency exits, fire equipment, and safety signage are properly maintained and visible.
Visitor and Client Safety
- Assist during property viewings, open houses, or auctions by ensuring safe visitor flow and alerting clients to any potential risks.
- Monitor public access to show homes, developments, or active property sites.
- Provide basic safety briefings or instructions to visitors entering active construction zones.
Incident Response
- Act as a point of contact for safety-related incidents and emergencies.
- Support evacuation procedures during fire alarms or drills.
- Administer first aid or summon emergency services when necessary (if trained).
Compliance & Reporting
- Keep records of safety checks, incidents, and visitor logs as required.
- Support internal audits and inspections related to health and safety standards.
- Report any breaches of safety protocols or near-miss incidents promptly.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations (especially in construction or property management)
- Strong observational and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Ability to remain calm and act responsibly in emergencies
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, potentially in all weather conditions.
